Cool bass. How does the maple neck effect the sound/attack on it?

Holy cow. Forgot the price lol
$850.00 The maple neck does not effect the tone or attack/feel in any significant way IMHO. The active 3 way pre + Barts dominate the tone/voice of this bass, diminishing any rsoewood vs. Maple, ash/basswood/alder tonewood debate/oppinions. Running this bass passive, effectively taking the pre out of the equation allows the natural charateristic of the tonewoods used to come out and breath thus giving the bass more "character". The bass would and does absolutely kill in a studio setting ... whether you're looking for a smooth, incredibly balanced and controlable sound via the tone shaping properties of the active 3band pre or something more organic and natural sounding (a la passive Fenders) by running the bass in passive mode. The bass is quite versatile nailing any number of tones both active and/or passive. |
