Have to thin out my collection to make way for some vintage gear. For sale:
Reverend Warhawk. $500. Brand new with HSC. I bought it the day it came into Guitar Boy and have played it a total of six hours. Brand, brand new. Contemporary, hipper version of Gibson's Thunderbird. Stunning Alpine Green with 3 handwound black P-90s and black pickguard. Neck through, solid mahogany. Incredible tone and playability. If you know Reverends, you know they are the best deal on the market right now. $500 guitars that play like their $2000 US counterparts. You will not be disappointed. Crate Vintage Club combo. $250. All tube tweed combo with 3x10s. Think old-school Bassman tone. Perfect for blues to hard rock. Warm, thick distortion. Organic, glassy clean tones. 12AX7s and El34s. Put it with the Reverend and you have a professional stage rig. Ampeg SVT200T 4x10 combo. $450 Fantastic sounding late '80s combo from Ampeg's short-lived "blue" period before they switched back to the black and white models. A twenty-year old powerhouse. My first Ampeg and I've never thought of selling it until now. Best sounding solid state combo you'll find. Has that big, round 70s Ampeg sound. This was the precursor to the crappy SVT350H. Only this has a better voiced, rotary EQ...much better than the standard slide EQs they have now. Hi-Lo mid EQ voiced at 650 and 800Hz for spectacular midrange punch and definition. All the goodies, balanced line out, bi-amp crossover, etc. Missing two knobs and an input retaining screw, nothing that affects the sound. Cosmetically, I'd say it's a 7 out of 10. Mechanically 10/10. 200 Watts @ 8 ohms or add a cab and get 320 watts @ 4. Palatino upright. $450. Old laminate upright that's had some work done. Neck was reset for better fingerboard angle. Adjustable bridge. Slight separation at the seams. No cracks. Sounds and plays fine. Comes with padded bag. All prices are firm. Will consider trades for the following: American or Japanese Fender P or Jazz basses. CIJ/MIJ reissues especially. Old beater P-basses with tons of Mojo welcome. Vintage tube bass heads: Ampeg V4, V2, V6 or B25; Music Man; Sunn; or Fender Bassman/Bandmaster Thanks, John |
