Not really a gear swap... more like a record swap.

Do we have to reserve a spot if selling?
For $5, do you guys provide a table?
What time arrival for sellers?
thanks.

This is going to be a rather informal thing - I have a couple tables (6' and a 4'), some flight cases, and other things which can be used for setting up "shop". There aren't any "spots" per se for sellers, or anything formal like that. I just want to do it and see how it goes - if there's more sellers than barterers, we can accomadate for that next time... or vice versa... we'll just see.

I think it's an awesome idea and I don't mind the 5 bucks at all. (I know you are trying to get a new space off the ground and I support that!) I think this is a good opportunity for bands to be able to swap their latest CD with other bands and everyone can get a copy of everyone else's music... sorta a local musicians swap. We don't need tables, just bring a mexican blanket lay all your stuff out on the blanket on the floor. I wanna bring a bunch of stuff to barter too.

yeah... it will be pretty laid back... there will be space available for quick 'n easy setup for sellin'. i think too if you have any hi-fi stereo stuff to bring down, like speakers, components, headphones, etc., like WebMonkey does, then that's cool.

Gabe from Ace Barber Shop is going to have his decks setup and will be spinning from his "trading" bin - so, if peeps want to preview vinyl, we can bring it up to the decks... we'll also have a cd player on hand... and maybe a tape deck too...

Damn! I thought it was last weekend and I missed it. Good to know. I have a stack of stuff I'd love to get rid of. Some of it is actually pretty great too...I just have doubles or triples (cause i'm that record-collecting-obsessive).

Thanks for everyone coming out today. We were interviewed by Channel 13 News in regards to gang related threat rumors surfacing on myspace... LOL... but we stood tall, peddling our music... and just saying no to gangster rumors... HA!

By the way - where were you? Ya you punk! Too embarassed to bring your non-selling CD's down to the Agency - WEEEEEAK! No wonder you complain about the scene being dead - you ain't doin' shit 'bout it son, so quit yer cryin'! Hardly any squawkers were there... which is bullshit.

Good thing I'm doing these swaps every month, maybe you can sack up and go to the next one...or keep going to walmart to get new music, or let those 600 CD's you have in your garage sit there a little longer... I really don't care - we still had a blast, found new music, and beat down the gangster rumors that were on myspace... hehehe...

(you rock sssk - lovin' the record, and thanks for the swap!)

Yep. I got some scores from the old dude who brought his stacks. The new Supergiant is in the car stereo. Beside Supergiant + us, no other local bands showed up. I'll be out of town the next 2 months so won't be able to make the next few (hoping the Agency decides to continue this despite the low turnout). But nonetheless, good idea, great venue!
Thanks Jason + Agency!

i thought the turnout was pretty good for the first one. there was a lot of vinyl for sale cheap and a lot of people were getting some really good scores. There were 4-5 dudes with a bunch of vinyl. all of the sicksicksick stuff was sick as hell. really cool stuff. (thanks for the trades). it is lame that no bands showed up to trade their discs i was looking forward to hearing some new stuff but hopefully this thing will grow if it is given a few rounds and if people support it.

Gangsta rumors thing was the local news once again creating news to fill the hour slot they have at 10-11pm ... lies, propaganda, hate-breeding bullshit

Intended to go but by the time I had pulled records to sell it was way too late. The good news is they're all pulled and ready to sell next time around.

Sundays are also a sucky day for me so that makes it a bit hard to get anywhere. Next time i will try harder though. This is a great idea...

I was just giving shit to give shit - not really directed at anyone at all (just so you know)... I was just a little bummed I didn't see other bands there. Anyways - for the first one it was a great turn-out. I just got a call from someone who went and he'll be bringing huge stacks down to the next one... I still think it's really cool to hang out, check out new/old music, and recover from the night before... so, I hope you all can make it to the next one... I'll keep these goin'.
