Hi all,

I know there are other requests like this, and I know about bleeding ear drum and lesmans, but I'm still going to post :P

I make electronic music, but primarily I am a drummer. I have 10+ years behind the kit, but at current no place to practice, at all, thanks to living in an apartment. I'm wondering what ya'll do for practicing, if you might be into sharing. do you play in storage lockers, rent from people, or anything like that? I myself REALLY need a place to play... if you, or anyone you know, know of someplace I could do a little work on weekends, I'd really like to get something. I'm not currently really looking to start another band, but I need to practice. Please help! Drop a line here or on email, and thank you in advance.

You might consider one of these. It’s not nearly as gratifying as a real kit, but it’s a suitable workaround. Grandmas sells them for around 100 bucks.

hey jarrod,

I actually own a yamaha dtxpress electronic kit, so I do have one avenue for practice, but I just need that real cymbal action to really feel like I'm practicing... but thanks for the input! I'm open to anything...

i don't know what your living situation is, but i live in a townhouse/condo type thing. so, when i moved in, and consequently when others would move in near me, i would simply go to their door and explain the whole drums thing. such as, "if it ever bothers you, please tell me...ie...don't call the cops"

for three years now, i've played whenever i want (up to 9:00 PM) and my neighbors have never complained. in fact, they ask me if anything's wrong when they don't hear me play for a week or two...

in short, honesty might work. people are surprisingly understanding sometimes.

if none of that works or is out of the question...email me, maybe we can work something out. chris@deankerns.com
