so anyone who has practiced or does practice at Lesmans knows what Im about to say is true, those who dont well its the truth. did they put absolutely ANY thought into that place? I mean for crying out loud I can hear bands playing when i pull into the miniscule parking lot. not to mention that when Im trying to do something I can hear every other band in there. now I rented 2 different spaces when I lived in boston from 2001 to 2004 and both of them were REAL practice spaces. you could rarely or barely hear any other band, even those next door to your space. even when you went thru the halls as long as someones space door wasnt open you could barely hear anything. the only time our band was drowned out was when Isis was practicing at the same time, and with good reason because they crush eardrums. so the point is will these Lesmans guys EVER truly soundproof that building? I mean cmon they throw up some blankets and a little foam and call it a practice space, yeah right. if I was paying $20 a month then yeah Id expect crap but Im throwing down like $165 and I expect a semi-quality space for that much. not to mention the fact that they have thee weakest hours on a sunday, 1pm to 9pm? cmon guys its not like the place is next door to a daycare center, wtf? some sundays i dont even wake up until 8pm so i gotta get up, eat, shower, get my gear together, go down there and with the 30 mins left try and practice. BS. i dont mind starting at 630pm on the other days but those sunday hours are killing me, plus they could extend the regular hours until 2,3 or 4am. maybe if they properly soundproofed the place it wouldnt BE a problem to play that late. damnit now Im all mad and wanna go fight a giraffe!
That's why u gotta go practice at BleedingEardrum! You don't have to rent it out "per month" wasting 125 bucks on a space u can't even think in. You can't hear any of the bands next to you, and its only 10 bucks an hour! It's worth every penny too! cancel that rental contract w/ Lesmen's, and get with a practice studio that will take u back to the practice spaces you would rent in boston. Bleedingeardrum is truelly the BEST plce to practice in Alb!

The hourly stuidos are cool, but worthless if you need a safe place where your gear can be kept in a "turn it on, tune, and go" state. Also, if you have spent time getting your specific tone out of your gear...you have to set it and break it every time you practice there. That cuts into the time.
The hourly thing is great for some folks and probably ideal for auditions, but after seeing them mentioned on every thread all I can think about are the things that wouldn't work for me.
Bleeding eardrum is awesome, but like CA said, if you like your equipment then you have to haul it. Mike does give enough time to set up off the clock as well, but I still would like a place to store my gear. It is also ridiculous that lesmen's started limiting the times that you can practice from. Do they actually kick you out at those times? I certainly know that those rooms are not worth what he charges. They are just old office spaces, that are called practice spaces. When we practiced there though, I never had any problems, but I am sure some people had problems with how loud we probably were.

shout out to bleeding eardrum for the hook up on the lights for the holloween show at uptown bar. not only do his rooms kick ass but he gives the kick deals on rentals and for the broke musician like myself I cant afford to buy that shit. By the way hey CAMartin what the fuck you been up to? thanx for the hit on our website, like to know what you guys are up to these days. oh also mike has put a major insurance policy on any equiptment left in his studio. dont sweat it bleeding ear kiks ass.

It looks like the Bob and me finally have a rhythm section (we've been looking since February) and can get the f**k moving. It'll be loud, it'll be big, and it's WAY overdue.

Well I am one of those types who has his gear all set up and needs a place to actually store stuff (like my drum kit and amps) as well as practice. Therefore the bleeding eardrum wouldnt work that well for me. To answer your question, YES they kick you out at their posted times. Some toothless rod bangs on the door like youre a 1st grader getting ready for school "got 5 minutes left!" its total bullshit. especially sunday. 1pm to 9pm is aidsville. i got a whopping 30 minutes in last nite. hopefully i destroyed his eardrums because all I need was make sick merzbow quality noise.

dreadedgoat, I'm not a big fan of Lesman's either. I've practiced there with two different bands over the years and the lack of security issue is the worst for me. People get their shit stolen from there all the time. I used to start practicing around 10:30pm and stay until well past 1:00am and never had anyone give me shit, though.
WebMonkey, that's a really cool site you made. I like the design a lot. Small suggestion though, if you brough the opacity on the background image down a bit it would make the items on top pop more.
Thanks! Yeah, the Bleeding Eardrum site is pretty busy... but the design is intended to convey anarchy, punk-rock and a general disregard to the conventional.
