Here's a trick some friends of mine used to use:

Find a strip mall (preferably rundown) that has vacancy and ask if you can rent the space until it is leased. Maybe only for a hundred a month or so + utilities. If the property is a single owner many times they'll rent until they find a lease. Some money is better than none for the owner.

Back in the old days of the Late 80's and Early 90's my band used to practice at the Box Cars. They are storage units made from Train Box cars located near I25 and Jefferson I think. (been a while)Also you might try the storage units on Aztec and Carlisle.

The $10/hour thing is okay for some, but I need a home for my gear...since Evenkeal blew up I've had my livingroom full o' guitar stuff and my wife quietly counting to herself a lot.

I may have to go back to Lesmen's.
