By the way, we are hoping to do a final remix, fix a few errors this weekend. I was going to wait to send it. I guess if we can't do it soon, I'll just send the rough, since you'll get the final sometime anyway...

i was disappointed however not to get the romeo goes to hell dvd bonus disc including commentary from martin scorcese and the infamous lost liverpool recording session video bootlegs, but maybe next christmas....

oh and since we're moving to a kinder, gentler rocksquawk, i will henceforth refer to this band as "romeo goes to heck".
i don't wanna upset anyone unnecessarily.

When we did the recording, Quincy videotaped the entire thing, and gave me DVD of it. We were all in different rooms, so it's the most boring tape ever: just a poorly framed shot of somebody concentrating really hard. Nobody besides us will ever see it. We're not the most awesome band to look at, but on a stage we are at least aware that someone's watching. On this tape we all look autistic: faces scrunched up, heads tucked in. Noelan looks ok though.

I thought that Hot Shit would be a good title for the disc. But between that and the band name, it might be too much. We are a family act after all.

yeah i often wonder what happens to all the video that people shoot of their friends' bands. they seem to be mostly worthless.

side note about 'hot shit': the old jefferson airplane side project --hot tuna--wanted to name themselves hot shit but RCA wouldn't put it on the label.

Sometimes it's nice to see just what you really look like. I'm a person who has no sense of myself externally. I have no concept of what I look like. I'm more aware of the crowd when I'm on stage; I cease to exist. Which is good and bad. I never get nervous, but I'm sure I look boring or goofy. Unfortunately, those tapes never look real either: you are always too aware of them. We need to get taped in secret. Also, it isn't like Jonathan Demme is behind the camera.
The footage from my wedding is almost exclusively shots of this girl that the cameraman (my brother-in-law) thought was hot. He actually pans away to get a close-up of her during the ceremony...

Swearing gives people an excuse not to listen to you. When I was in Lush Rustler, we heard they were going to play us on the Local Edge, and went so far as to announce us as, "Up next," a few times, but it never came through. We were told afterward that they were franticly flipping through songs during the commercial breaks, trying to find one song that wasn't half swear words. Of course they may just have been saying that because they didn't want to tell us we sucked...
We still swear now, but we left a few without, just in case.

I still think Hot Shit is a great title. Maybe next time.

you're right about the cussin' but for me, as long as your lyrics aren't "fuck you fucking fuck" i'll listen...

i saw lush rustler a few times, didn't realize you were in that too. much like the cameraman at your wedding, i watch grrrls more than guys so i was probably checking out someone too young for me in the crowd while you were onstage.

hey has romeo every played the compound? i was there the first time the other night and could see "the kids" would love alot of the usual atomic/tiki/ launchpad bands. i think you guys would tear down the house over there.

I am going to ask Levi to play the compound with Lousy Robot and The Dirty Novels. That would rock!
