I'll be playing my first show with my new band, The Dead Electric on Friday, at The Launchpad, as well as with my other band, Romeo Goes To Hell. It's all for the Unit 7 Drain cd release. The cd is free, and it's only $5 to get in. Be sure to buy some of the awesome buttons and shirts I made for them, as well as to change all your links to the new website of theirs at unit7drain.net. I also did that! Check out some my other work at I Heart Machine. I'm a fucking multitalented, double-booked, genius rockstar. I'm good at kissing too, though I probably taste like an ashtray. I'm a little overweight too.
Also playing at this show is Lousy Robot, The Oktober People, and Black Maria. That's a fucking lineup right there, pal. That's like THE lineup. The cd is on Socyermom Records. Romeo will be playing again on the 21st at Burt's (details to come). And our new cd is sounding really good. Seriously. I'm going to put a track up soon. Stay tuned for our release! ...when we have a date, I guess... Levi Eleven

probably because we cheated.
GOOD NIGHT The sound guy didn't show, so they called in another who showed right when the show was supposed to start. Dead Electric played right through the sound check; no real songs or anything, just fucking around. I couldn't wait. We only played three songs once the mics were up, but I thought it was good. Best first show I've ever had, really good crowd for that early. Everyone had to shorten their set a bit due to the delay, but I think they made up for it by rocking out harder. Lousy Robot played all my favorite songs. Black Maria was awesome and huge, as always. Oktober People were fucking epic, one of the best times I'd ever seen them. Again, the sound was really good through the whole show, and so was the lighting and crowd. For Romeo- You know at the pad you can't always tell what the crowd hears, and always want more monitors- this time: vocals and keys sounded the best ever. We put everything we had into it. Despite the fact that we haven't practiced in forever I thought we did really well. We played a bit slow since we were rusty, but put more oomph in to make up for it. Since it was a short set we kicked the shit out of it. Unit 7 sounded great, looked great, coll projection, very impressive equipment smashing at the end. They should be really proud of the turnout, the people who stuck around all night, the cd, the press... everything. Great goddam show, and there was even quite a bit of good competition that night, so they should be even more happy. My bands didn't sell any merch really (I raised the prices for one night only so as not to swipe business from Unit 7, and there was also good new shit from Lousy Robot), but I sold a bunch of iheartmachine shirts of my own design, including every single girl and youth shirts I had in stock. After having made 130 shirts, 1200 buttons and a website the previous week, I still have my third biggest week ever this coming week! And I made out with 5 or 6 girls. I say 5 or 6, because a dude might have snuck in there. I have no way of knowing. I drank a lot. The next day I was as tired as hell, but not hung over. I FUCKING LOVE THIS TOWN RIGHT NOW. |
