Hey Squakers,
Got a couple of not-so-punk shows.

The first one is this Friday, the 11th, at the Old Town Gazeebo, with a backing band. Show starts at 7 and runs through 9.

The other will be on Monday, the 14th, where I will be the featured artist for the songwriter's open-mic night at the Tavern. (Thanx Martin & Christina)

Two opportunities to hear one of the most non-punk punk rockers in the area.

Would love to see some of you there.

Jasper is far more Punk Rock than anyone (including himself) realizes.

Need I list the reasons?

OK, I'll bite....

How punk is Jasper?

A few brief examples...

1) True original.

2) Emotional release through his music and performance.

3) Firm DIY attitude and approach.

4)Depression and/or substance abuse as a vehicle for creativity.

5) Modesty and self deprication.

6) Never seems to feel the need to proclaim how fucking Punk Rock he is. (a true Punk attribute in my opinion)

I got more, but I need to go and work on my abs for when I go toe-to-toe with Levi. It's bound to happen soon...

I have been listening to your tracks today and I really like them. They have a nice dark vibe to them that I enjoy. The drums on Murder are perfectly minimal, I love that. 1st time I have heard your stuff, I am going to have to see you live sometime. Makes me realize how much more local stuff I need to check out.

Alright stupid question, so where is this Old Town Gazeebo? I'm assuming that there is a square in Old Town with a Gazeebo in the middle? I heard there are a bunch of rabble rousers and ruffians in that part of town and don't want to get lost.

Just wanted to thank every one for checking out my duke city shows.....and apologize to any one who made their way to the gazeebo, only to wonder "What happened to the band?"....it really came down to it was freakin cold....we figured we would tough it out, until all of our fingers got frozen in the D minor position, which really sucks when you are trying to make a G.

The open mic at the Tavern proved to be quite fun.....Jeffrey and I hadn't practiced too much,(about 30 minutes before we got there)but he knows me pretty well, and is spectacular at adding just what needs to be added. It was also pretty cool to get a sing-a-long going....It was the first time I had ever had the audience singing with me, and even though the song was a cover, it made me feel as if the nine or so people were paying attention.

Then came the surprise(in more ways than one) show. The LittleKiss Showcase/House party at the third street arts space. On Friday, after the gazeebo freeze, we were hanging at the studio when Rod Shot asked me if I was gonna be in town all week, and if I wanted to MC the show. I was like "well hell yeah". I got to play a few songs, again with the Brightcarver, and check out what my fellow label mates had been working on. And although we didn't have a lot of people there, we had the right people there. I believe C.C. has some video of the performances. Hit her up for the locations of said videos.

Thanx again, and I'll be back this summer for more not-so-punk performances, and hopefully a full blown not-so-punk CD release party.
