I'm a pro guitarist that will be moving (back) to NM soon, I've been working in the Seattle area since '92.
I'm experienced and knowledgeable in all aspects of stage and studio. Well equipped, quite versatile and appreciate all music...but for playing I prefer the vibe of rock/metal/industrial/electronica something. I get bored pretty fast with the soft stuff unless it's a killer gig or such. The idea of leaving so many friends and musicians is a bit depressing, so I'm trying to get a jump-start and introduce myself, meet a few players, try to find a good gig or two... I can provide all the usual stuff; pics, sounds, whatever. Anyway, hello! |

Thanks for the reply, the vibe I've been getting form the scene so far has been crickets.
Hey, being a relative newbie in the SW scene, I'm in the dark about who's who. What do you do, musically? Are there audio samples that I can check out? I can't use much labels like "this or that genre" or "sounds like this or that band" to get my interest. To me, it's all about the individual approach and tone. I know that comparisons are just that, but the actual sound/approach/tone/attitude is where it's at for me. I can't relate to face-value labels much. So, if you can show me the basic product, I might get it up for that and hop on a jet. In the absense of that, I'll be happy to meet and audition when I'm in the 'hood. |

well, my "metal" band simfonik plague can be found here. the recordings are pretty old, or just a practice session. i only play on harmony 7 and structure, while the newer versions of untitled and panic scars now have a lot more going on with the bass. the other two songs have the old SP bass player. a list of our past shows can also be found on a blog. i tend to use a lot of chords and octaves on a six string bass, but am prefering a four stringer for this new band. with any project i'm not so "sounding like this band" or "this genre". i like to go wherever the song takes me. i just don't want to go metal because i already have Simfonik Plague and don't really want to be playing the "same shows". variety is the spice of life.
what examples do you have? |

Hey, there's so many sub-genre of music that I dont know what "metal" means any more. Hell, there's black metal, death metal, chicken metal, I dunno...it's all rock to me, I either like it or I dont. Half the shit people call one-thing-or-another sounds nothing like the description to me, but whatever.
Labels suck, they stick a band in a box with closed walls. Anyway, I've got a few tunes online that you can hear. These aren't reflecting what I'm doing today or where I'd like to go tomorrow, and when I hook up with other players the dynamic is always different. But, here are a variety of different ideas I was working on as a solo project. Not mastered, no melody tracks, but at least you can hear a bit of what I can do. All ideas and instrumentation me, so ya can't blame anyone else. BE |
