Alright,
Laugh at the subject line if you will, but the facts are there. Almost 130 million albums sold, the first rock band to have a #1 country hit with "Who Says You Can't Go Home" their newest album 'Lost Highway' debuted at #1 in 14 countries and has gone platinum, this mind you is 25 years after the band came into existence, and the just completed tour for "Lost Highway" is looking to be one of the highest grossing of the past year.

And, truth be told, I just want to rock the tunes.

I can sing. And well. I'll audition for anyone who wishes or disputes. But I need a band. Guitar, bass, keys and drums. This isn't a joke or a spectacle band. We're not going to be dressing up like its 1986. It's about the music, not the clothes. If you think I'm trying to start a circus act, you are mistaken.

Bon Jovi is my favorite band and the music is important to me, I want to pay tribute to it. Faithfull renditions of damn good music. Whether this is a one off or a regular gig, it'd be nice to see it happen.

Only those ready to break out the talkbox need apply.

Look forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks very much.

Charlie

That took balls.

I hope it works out for you. Even though I'm not into the idea, I'll sadly say that, if you pull this off well, you will find gigs in this town and crouds will form.

Why you throw rocks my dog when he no bark you?!

OH yes. That's constructive.

120,000,000 Bon Jovi fans can't be wrong. And like I said, there are numbers you can't deny. But you know what they say, 'those who can't...

So by all means, feel free to come up with another Pulitzer winner like your previous one.

Not that I know any of the parties involved, but I think that as long as he keeps Vonnegut's sketch on each post, it IS a Pulitzer winner.

It wasn't me, though I really like the idea and can sense the deep-rooted passion of the original poster. I'd be a part of it but I have my hands full with my main project (the MC Hammer cover band).

Everyone knows I'd do a Guns'n'Roses tribute if I was going to go late 80's.

uhh,
by this logic, the masses are NEVER wrong, so long as there is a shitload of them .

let's go to Germany 5/7/45 and tell them they don't need to surrender, since they "can't be wrong"

repeat ad nauseum for all crimes and/or mistakes committed by large groups of people
.

But the real question is, can you actually sing "Living on a Prayer" without punching yourself in the pills?

I couldn't sing that in middle school...

Sid, you're right. His real name is John Francis Bongiovi. They americanized it to Bon Jovi (I believe it was to have name recognition because of the massive success of 'Runaway')

Although I do believe Richie Sambora does have polish ancestry.

Also, my real plan is to actually emulate the live performances rather than the studio tracks (the live versions have there own energy, pace, etc that I like) so hopefully, I'll be able to pull off "Prayer" without any damage to the netherregions.

By the way, comparing the band who made "Born To Be My Baby" to those who committed World War II atrocities? That's just priceless.

Thanks everyone for the comments. That there's any here at all is encouraging to me.

The backing vocals on "Letting You Go" are nut twisters as well.

Hi-

I grew up with 80's bands myself, and Bon Jovi was great. Not my favorite, but great nonetheless.
I would like to join with you and play their tunes, if you are still in the market.
I can play Sambora's stuff, no problem.
Finding a bass player and keyboard player is a little difficult in ABQ, but if you can find them,
that would be great. Let me know what you think. I have plenty of equipment for myself. Not to worry.
Thanks - hope to hear from U soon.

-Jess

Damn, I would jump on this in a heartbeat if I wasn't a singer already. My band covers a couple of Jovi tunes for fun. Good luck to ya this town will eat it up.
