Not the type where we all wear tight black pants, though. Look here: green onions Think Sam and Dave, Booker T, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Motown, Stax, etc. I don't want this to be some lame casino cover band. I want to play real r&b old school style. Gear is important for this type of thing, ie-you can't really play Sam and Dave with an Ibanez through a Mesa Boogie (no offense if that's your thing, I just don't think it sounds right in this setting). So, what do I need? Well, I play drums. I think a reasonable start would be bass, guitar, and hammond. Email me at giranimals@yahoo.com if you are interested.
maury, you know i'd be down, but 1.) i don't have the right kind of guitar for it (my sg would work, but you'd really need something at least semi-hollow to get that fat soul sound)... and also can't commit to getting to albuquerque for practice all the time. so i guess the point of this post is... good luck.
