I'm a vocalist with a lot of classical training, but very little experience with rock vocals, I'm also teaching myself how to play guitar using a cello bow (although I'm not nearly as good at that as I am with vocals). I've also got marginal skills with a variety of other instruments.

I'm working on starting a band now with an experimental sound, not sure exactly where I'm going with this at the moment, but just kind of messing around.

Looking to see what other musicians in the albuquerque area are interested in experimental (or progressive, art rock, post-rock, space rock, anything along those lines) music or are already playing it since I'll be looking for musicians to collaborate with. Especially if this project I'm starting doesn't work out.

So, I guess this is both an available musician/musicians wanted ad. Since I'll be looking to either add to what I've got now or be a part of something new if this doesn't fly.

There's a really great experimental scene brewing here.
Go to events at Winnings, Peace and Justice, The Stove, or at Santa Fe's High Mayhem.

Check out myspace.com/cobragroup or myspace.com/mrbittner.

Find Mammal Eggs. Find Father of the Flood. Find Yoda's House. Find Lionhead Bunny. Find Bonetar.

Some good shows are coming up, too. The best way to find experimental musicians is to get out there and meet them.

Good luck.

Are you m or f? Don't have to answer but don;t morph both. Not that it matters, but i'm a sexist in reverse.

Also, it is little known outside of the exp scene, but there are some serious labels in NM that are known nationally for putting out exp/noise music. We've got THAT over AZ and TX.

Come to this event. William FC is a great exp guitarist

Thanks for all the info, folks.

I am a male, for what it's worth.

I can see I have a lot to do.

Also: I'm much more familiar with the local Ska scene since that's what most of my friends are in to as far as local music goes.
