My new band, Morn, needs a miscellaneous percussionist. I'm thinking mostly tambourine, maraca, shaker, and occasional cow-bell (for comic relief) and not another drummer. This may sound easy or silly, but I need someone who's going to seriously learn songs and know their parts and be at practice. There's a fair amount of improvisation, so having good taste and knowing when not to play is important. Normally I try to 'hire from within', recruiting friends to play, but this position hasn't worked out that way. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. maybe the guy meant mean triangle as in average triangle? equilateral triangle? one never know about a triangle...

Anyone familiar with Elucidian Geometry knows that triangles are not mean, nor can those said constructions be used meanly or musically. They are quite tame, and have no intrest in time (or duration, to be precise), which is an essential element to music. Non-elucidian geometric shapes and concepts may perhaps be musical, but I doubt it, and it is even less likey that one could play it meanly. I would imagine those concepts (as I am of the 'empiricist' camp I hold that those ideas and concepts exist only as we construct them and not independent of our experience) would sound more at home in a John Cage composition. Though truly, and well stated, one can never know about triangels...
