Wear what you want. The bill supports an even mix of Punks, Heshers, Rockers and the Attractive (Volume Volume, as if I had to tell you.)

Hope y'all make it out!

Sounds like fun. I'm gonna try and make it down after Wilco (one of my wife's favorite bands, so I I'm obligated to go with her) but it should be over fairly early maybe ... we'll see, i'd like to see it.

What songs are you gonna do? I know if we were ever asked to do a show like this it'd have to be be Motorbreath and Four Horsemen

Kill 'Em All is the only Metallica album I've ever liked, and I REALLY liked it in HS ... from wikipedia...

Kill 'Em All is American thrash metal band Metallica's debut album, released on July 25, 1983 on Megaforce Records. It was recorded in only two weeks on a small budget. Only 1500 copies were initially printed.

Released in 1983, the record's release set the band on the path to "world domination," as drummer Lars Ulrich would put it in the following year.[2]

According to some music critics[citation needed] the album is acclaimed for combining high-tempo (discounting the Cliff Burton bass solo "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth") and a tribute to the band's early influences: Diamond Head, Iron Maiden, Motörhead and Venom, all English bands who combined the heaviness and technicality of Black Sabbath with the speed and aggression of Hardcore Punk.

The band initially planned to title the album Metal Up Your Ass, and it would boast a cover featuring a toilet bowl with a hand clutching a dagger emerging from it. However, Megaforce urged them to change this,[6] and they agreed, switching to the marginally less-offensive Kill 'Em All. This time the cover featured the shadow of a hand letting go of a bloodied sledgehammer. Cliff Burton is credited with coming up with the name Kill 'Em All (referring to timid record distributors) as a response to the whole situation.[7]

We're doing Cliff Burton's Bass Solo (Anesthesia/Pulling Teeth) and Whiplash.

Keep your eyes peeled for an instrument change-up/switcheroo!

(and Nels Cline is ripping in Wilco)

We're doing Harvester of Sorrow and Master of Puppets (which does almost sound like motorhead, re: that wiki article of WM's).

I think the cut-off was pre-Black Album? Which is both cool, since those are their best songs, and... well, I kinda wanted to do a bad song, you know what I mean? But, oh well. I'm just glad to know I won't have to hear Unforgiven (which is still played out 15 years later) or Unforgiven Too (which is an abortion of baby Jesus). Tonight will be totally unforgiven free!

If it does happen next year, I'm going to do a reading/re-staging from Some Kind of Monster for sure. That'd be hilarious. I also thought it would be funny to do only songs Metallica covered: maybe Bob Segar and Misfits? But apparently it's not a night of intentional comedy, but of rock. there may still be some unintentional comedy though.
