Hey Squawkers!

Tommorrow is the start of my psycho-music journey into the aural pit that is South by Southwest. I'll be there catching some (hopefully) awesome music, talking to bands, attending conferences and generally taking advantage of barrels full of free beer—all the while reporting back to you—Albuquerque's online music community—with tales of rockness ... and other stuff that peaks my interest.
If you are going to SXSW, know someone who is going, wish you were going or hate the very mention of SXSW, pipe in on this forum with your two to twenty-five cents worth. Pictures, reviews, previews, drunken rants ... endless possibilities.
I'll be on the plane at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow—laptop, digital camera and voice recorder in tow. There will be much caffeine involved. Check back often as I plan to spend nearly as much time reporting on what I hear as I do rocking out to it.
SXSW or bust! (or both ...)

Hit by a Bus is going. We're playing at two unofficial showcases (Go-Girls & Texas Rockfest).

I have mixed feelings about it, mostly because we'll be spending lots of money that we don't have on gas. But we'll definitely have a good time. We did last year. This year, I plan on going to more parties--->FREE FOOD/DRINKS!!! Another thing I'm worried about is not having a place to sleep. We haven't/probably won't reserve rooms. (There are 6, possibly 7 of us going).

Who else is going? Where will you be hanging out? What bands to plan on catching?

That's awesome, Gio. Way to get into some showcases, official or otherwise. You should bring a tent. You don't really need to shower, right? You'll be surrounded by smelly rockers.

Mostly for the longevity of our van, The Mighty Winchester, I think we oughta get a place with showers. The very smell of the seven of us combined could shake loose every bolt in the poor vehicle, leaving us stranded somewhere in the heart of *gasp!* Texas.

I am leaving with our bassist Kyle on Thursday at 3:30 am, I'll be there Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun. I still haven't booked hotels yet either. Sleeping in the car doesn't sound that fun.

Check out this site: Oh My Rockness. There are a ton of free shows with free food and great bands playing.

What's the time/date/place of Hit By a Bus' gigs? I'd like to check it out ...
