has anyone else heard the new one? i have to admit, i am not a fan of it... funnier thing is, i can't really pinpoint why. your thoughts?

I haven't heard it, but I've always been sort of lukewarm about them (him). Although, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space is really good.

i concur. i think my general distaste for the band might be because i was into spacemen 3, as most of us were, before spiritualized... and i guess i was just hoping for a bit more psyche-ish stuff. sometimes spiritualized delivers that, but all in all, it's a bit too pop opera-ish for me.

This is exactly why I like spiritualized. It's all just over the top music made by a drugged out manic madman. It took a long time to grow on me but when it finally did the genius just came beaming through.

Spacemen 3 I'm still hit or miss on. I suspected if I was a stoner I'd appreciate the whole thing more. it's just not immediate enough for me most of the time.

well, i'm sure i'll give him a few more chances, it's just hard to motivate myself to do so. and the new album didn't do it for me. but again, that is just the initial first listen consensus.

Haven't actually heard the new one...although I like the band I don't really keep up with them at all.
