After meeting with Kathy and ET tonight at The Golden West - both parties decided to work together. Dream Logic will be building a state of the art website for the club(s) which will include live streaming broadcasts for shows/interviews/tour of the club for out of state folks as well as much more. Look for the site launch by the middle of January.

This all started after reading the posts on here. Our companies felt that we have to offer the club help in the web and internet presence department and have given our services to them free of charge (gladly).

Please if you have something to offer like photographs (bands,individual etc.), stories or anything you can imagine send it to Arielle@FractionRecords.com. Please remember this is for the GW/El Rey.

As far as Fraction Records involvement - if you want live broadcasting just ask or email Arielle once again. We will also be bringing in Nationals to the club(s) and having locals open up. Also if you have anything you can contribute to the club other than complaints then lets all work together and help. I saw a lot of great suggestions. Now act on them in a positive manner and fight the good fight.

For those of you worrying about your money - I personally saw the envelope on Kathy's desk waiting for the bands to come pick it up. Kathy and ET are not out to get anyone in my viewpoint. Communication will solve all worries.


If you want the GW to be like it once was then participate in the good fight to get it back to the legend it should be. The history in that club is fucking unbelievable! It's got vibe...

It was never ET i was worried about

ET kicks ass. He's nice and mellow and Kathy is a fun businesswoman from what I saw. We were laughing most of the meeting.

I think this will be fun and a way for the whole community to not only find the faults but find ways to improve what they see/saw wrong and watch it grow into something positive.

Thank you all for the kind responses. I hope this positive response not only gets back to ET and Kathy but I hope we can all find ways to make this site unique and the best it can be.

What I mean by that is PLEASE send Arielle@FractionRecords.com any and all crazy stories and any history of the club and pics, reviews of bands etc... We have started on it today and are having weekly meetings with Kathy and ET to show them the progress and make sure everyone is digging the direction and is happy.

So... If you want live streaming then PLEASE RESPOND HERE OR EMAIL ARIELLE. If you want something else DO THE SAME! This is the GW/El Rey's website and all final decisions are Kathy and ET's and co. but I would like the community here and elsewhere to all be involved in the content as much as we can.

Thanks again for all your kindness! Anyone who has done a site knows that it is similar to writing an epic story or song. The GW/El REY has a vibe and Dream Logic would love to capture that. It is art on many levels.

Sounds like a plan. I agree ET is a cool guy. I think this will do some good cause Jonathan and Fraction are very good at making sure that events are well promoted even months ahead of time. Some good shows with aggressive promo will do the trick. Send me HTML codes and I'll put show flyers up all over myspace.

I re-read the post and its still unclear? What is the web site presence supposed to fix about the way the club is ran?

Is that going to help them open the doors on time?
Is that goign to help them remember to have bartenders?
Is that going to help them treat bands with respect?

So say you do con the Supersuckers into playing the Goldenwest. How are you going to cover their guarentee or even their tech requirements for sound?

Do they have to call back in a few months to see if this magic envelope has money for them?

A web presence is one thing the clubs are lacking, and we've offered to provide. I can't testify to any administrative/technical issues they might have, or how they might be solved.
I can't save the world, but I can do what little I can to help, right?

I've been discussing bringing some national bands into the El Rey, not GW; the Supersuckers are one I'd like to see. As the promoter for those events, I/Fraction Records will be contractually liable to cover the talent guarentee (among numerous other things).

As you may or may not know; making something like that happen successfully can be a logistical nightmare. I'm in the middle of preparing a Southwest Tour with various headliners for the spring to coincide with the launch of the new fractionrecords.com website.

As far as the website is concerned, or, for that matter bands coming in to play; I'm totally open to suggestions. Personally, I'd love to see webcasting from the GW/El Rey. What do you think?

I also notice our name is posted on that test page for a show? Is that a hypothetical show?

Most of the complaints from the people here have been administrative/technical issues so until those are repaired I dont think a web presence will help.

I hate that they consider the El Ray and Golden West on venue. That makes things worse I think.

If there was some way to buy out just the Golden West side and turn that into a club to cater to the approprate sized touring acts and locals and leave the El Ray to do its thing I would do that in a heart beat. Infact I bet I would have a line of people fighting to take it over and run it right.

I'm in that line. But surely a Web site is a good freaking start. And Web-casting would be seet. An e-mail list might be another good idea, so you can send out the calendar.
