thanks webmonkey and I will be happy to participate and abide by the voting poll results! A little democracy in action, how exciting!

I ask myself the same question, black. I demand that Jimmy Carter be flown in to observe the entire voting process. There is no way that this poll can be fair and impartial with a man in charge here.

Fight the power, demand accountability and so on.

Also, I demand that Ralph Nader be added to the ballot. Down with this two-party corporate fascism!

I think in general, when the boyzz want to make their little jokes like that, the average woman will smile and pretend it doesn't matter.

Unfortunately, it does.

I admit that the first time I saw the Karma for this site I was a little shocked. However, I didn't find it offensive. I think it's worth mentioning that there's a big difference between those two concepts. Are boobs shocking? In many contexts (bare and in a public place), they certainly can be (to Americans). Do I think that boobs are offensive? Hell, no! Boobs exist, all the time, every day, every place. And they are beautiful. Long live my tiny, beautiful boobs!

It does show sensitivity on "their" part. Now I ask that they put our suggestions into action.

Ok, purely in the spirit of debate; being partly described in terms of bra sizes may be offensive to (none/some/many/all) women, but I think your last comment really goes to the heart of what sexism is and in what ways it's really dangerous (and pervasive, even among us educated, empowered gals). Sure, let's talk about it, let's even make our suggestions, and let's just hope--no, let's go ahead and ask!--that men take some action on our little issue. Boy howdy, I just love how we've come to rely on "them" to take action on our issues when we ask them to!
See what I'm getting at? "They" aren't the ones in charge here, yet we still automatically differ to men and the very same hegemonic male power structure that we claim to rebel against. How can we sit here and talk about sexism when we're giving our power away left and right without batting an eyelash? That's sexism, girlfriend!
And, fuck it, any heirarchal structure is inherently "sexist" anyhow, so as long as there's any Karma system at all, we're still screwed (so to speak).

I just think it's funny to think about all these men wearing bras and having the flesh stuffing to fill them.

I remember someone mentioning changing the karma to something music related. I dunno about you, but that seems to make sense, seeing as how this is a music forum. It could be something like, Pre-pubescent Garage Band to David Muthafuckin Bowie, with maybe UNM Music Program Dropout and Self-absorbed Symphony Orchestra Soloist in between.

And about the boob thing...get over it. How petty can you get? There are bigger things in this world to get your panties in a twist about....oh wait, was that sexist? Sorry. There are more important things to be all butt-hurt about--oops. uh...yeah.

I am horrified at the poll results this morning. Let me tell you that if this does not go our way, we are going to have this board so full of DNC lawyers that it will make your head spin. You'll be sorry. Also, I am pretty sure that one or two "NO" votes were actually intended to vote our way, but mistakenly voted for Buchanan after the voters were distracted by shiny objects. These votes should be thrown out. Remember. every vote counts, sisters! Let's get the vote out!!!

Those votes are bullshit. Nine women who like music? Yeah, right. Someone's cheating. There isn't anything stopping a person from signing up under an alias, or stopping a dude from voting. YOU ARE ALL LIVING A LIE!

Now people are defending bra size as a sacred right. So there really isn't any chance of changing it, like there might have been if somewone had just said, "hey, let's try something new."

ok seriously.... this was the way the "Karma" was started on this site.... and hey, just for keepin it authentic as to what it was in the first place, I don't mind the whole Bra size thing.

I mean think about it... u gotta admit it, that guys started this website, and what is every guys dream??? I know if I had a pair of breasts I wouldn't leave my house, and I think every guy here would agree.... there ain't no reason to lie gentlemen. What we don't have is what we want, right?

haha ok ok maybe the last statment was just a joke to lightin up all this talk.... or maybe it will just dig me a hole that i can't get out of, but still, I agree with Dandee... a bra is a piece of clothing... and i'm not just agreeing cuz he started this place.....
Besides... what woman, OR man would ever be able to fill the bra cup that Dandee, terryb, or Levi have?? seriously? ----- I mean in the RockSquawk sense haha.

hmmmmmmm. How would you feel about a teeny weeny jock strap? Honestly guys....go with your first reaction. Wouldn't something like that make you feel a tad bit inferior?? And what does the size of clothing have to do with Karma? Why did they think of WOMEN'S clothing instead of male clothing so quickly? The jock strap concept will NEVER happen, and that's why it's wrong. You can dish it out, but ya can't take it. We've been taking it and laughing about it for centuries.

I think it was intended as "harmless fun" and no way was it ever meant to hurt anyone. The problem is just that it IS derogatory and it's time to use something else.

Wouldn't it be great if the music 'biz was a place where everybody had an equal chance? Come on, I know lots of you have ladies in the band, so you're NOT a bunch of chauvinistic pigs. Most of you are probably pretty darned decent fellows and you've been raised with different attitudes than my older generation. Are they there because you want a "hottie" to draw the guys in the crowd, or do they actually have talent? Don't they earn a little respect?

Instead of arguing to keep your bras, why don't you say something positive about those gals that work so hard for you. Personally, I think it takes a lot of guts to strap on a guitar and get up there onstage with da boyzzz. As for me, I'll always be sittin' in the bar or hanging out in the bedroom during band practice. It isn't easy for them, hard as hell. Why do you have to make it harder?

I think when this was done originally, it was meant as a compliment. They were expressing appreciation for something they liked.

That's a great concept. I just think it's one of those things that's better when appreciated in private.
