i've noticed that anytime there's drama (lieber, thinnere), shit talking or hippie bashing....BOOM, a zillion views, millions of replies....

when someone posts a song....little or no response.

isn't this a music forum? what exactly is going on here?

don't get me wrong, i'm as amused as the next guy/girl by the shennanigans, but usually the horse is dead long before the flogging stops.

just saying.

Dontcha know? It's all about the drama. bringing attention to one's self has never been cooler. It reminds me of Bush and his "WMD's" ... ehh a local "scene" versiosn of it anyways Roll Eyes

Politics come in a zillion colours and flavours but in the end it's still just politics ... Pathetic in a sense.

My general observation is that I'm the 6th post on a thread with 146 (now 147) views. That's a lotta looking & lurking...

ahhh SNAP!!! I was hoping this was a "general observation" on one of the following...

a. some outside band came into town talking trash about all of the local bands. Now the locals are going to meet up with this outside band to have a dance off.

b. a local band was angry about not getting P.A.I.D from a venue that frankly looks a little sketchy to begin with. So now the local bands are going to meet up with the venue owners to have a dance off.

c. a group of hippies dissed on the upcomming "Tool" album and now the anticipators of the "Tool" album are going to open up a can of "Dance OFF" on those haters.

our scene rules!

congrats on the music Nunchuck.

We'd scare the hippies (probably the hot girlies also) off if we started dancing. Shit, I think I started playing music to compensate for my dancing.

If you can call flailing, sputtering, spinning, and general falling over from those types of moves... yes, I can dance. I actually move better with a guitar strapped to me. Without an instrument in hand I walk like a gorilla with a nervous tic.

SM:"I think I started playing music to compensate for my dancing."

Same here! Only, it was to compensate for my lovemaking technique.

TM:"flailing, sputtering, spinning, and general falling over"

Yes, that's the one.

Congrats on the Nunchuck.

I am not sure why "check out my music" threads usually sink down pretty fast. I guess no one wants to come out of the closet about liking certain bands, or dish out public critiques.

I have no problem stating what I think of said bands but I only critique when they ask for feedback - positive or negative, whether I notice the thread, and whether or not I have the time to have a listen.

Yanno, IMHO .. as always YMMV. Smile

Nunchuk is one of my personal favorite Abq. bands. So is this off the "Lifeguards" ep or is it completely new? (I can't access myspace from here).
