Ok Black, Rele doesn't have a forum so hear me out. We have very well liked song on our hands titled "I Know You" without a complete line-up to play it. We need a rhythm/lead guitar player to round out our live band. I already know the drill, several of you squawkers are gonna hate this song but for some reason people are eating it up. Whether you you like it or hate it that's fine, I respect my fellow squawkers opinion but that is not the purpose of this post. So please guitar players contact me-Matthew Rele through Myspace if interested.

In other words, people are downloading this song like crazy and sending me messages daily on how special the song is to them. Not a Billboard hit by any means, just a well liked song.

Has anyone listened to this song?

I think 'hit' may be a bit of a stretch.

Not trying to be an ass, just calling it like I hear it. Cliche progression, cliche lyrics. Totally unimaginative.

Be realistic about how inviting your project is going to be for other musicians. And when you don't get a response, don't waltz back in to General Discussion with the impression that perhaps you've just been accidentally overlooked.

I'm sure there are plenty of musicians in this town that would love to play on your project...just not on this board.

I said in my post "We have very well liked song." I said a lot of you wouldn't like it and I respect that, although it breaks my heart that you don't like the song. And I love your music mannydog, very original and imaginative, I'm surprised you haven't sold millions of albums yet. And to think, when people ask me about affordable studios I refer them to you. Yes the song is cliche and that's why people like it. And I am being realistic in search for a rhythm guitar player. I've gotten 3 responses from this post alone. This is an Albuquerque musicians board right? So give me the respect that everyone else gets who post on here and let me post whether it belongs in general chatter or not. I don't fuck with anyone else who posts on here.

Face it Matt you just don't fit the mold here. You fit some other mold of music. So you aren't in the clique. You can't be a part of the club cause you aren't different enough like everyone else. Wink

Wait a second, Matt...I respect you and have nothing against you, but I distinctly remember a time on this board a while back where you made thinly-veiled criticisms of my band and another. You said, "And before you criticize Vai, let's improve those simple cowboy chord songs first," as if a crack at Vai was a crack at you personally. Like I said, I've got nothing against you, Matt, but you've criticized my music (as well as defended-I'll give credit where it's due Smile) on here before.

I only criticized your band because I have a crush on Connie, you know that mc Smile And seriously, my new song is composed of 3 cowboy chords, A, G, and D. And Skreech, why aren't you guys signed yet? Your last CD was amazing! Really, I still listen to it when I'm working out or just want to feel good. I know I don't fit the mold here but I'm trying. Can you give an old guy a chance?

The fact that the majority of posters here think that you are a tool may not be an indicator that we are part of a vast anti-skreech conspiracy clique. It is most likely an indicator that you are, in fact, a tool.

Duke Ellington has this to say about the topic ::

“There is nothing too keeping a band together. You simply have too have a gimmick, and the gimmick I use is too pay them money!”

Nickelback has sold 20 million records.

I like your song dude, it kinda reminds me of being a kid at the rollerskating rink back in the mid-80s. It's one of those ballads that every band had where they'd turn the lights down and you'd grab a chick that could skate couples with. If you were lucky she'd let you make out with her. Make out songs rule!

Yep! I should change my nickname to THE HAMMER. But were I to do that I would feel like I have to wear a wife beater and hang out at Jacksons all the time. Perhaps THE PIPEWRENCH? No I need something that is pretty much the most useless and uninteresting tool there is. I got it STIRSTICK!

Mateo, Mateo, what have I told u about tootin your own horn? If YOU believe you have a hit song then so be it, be strong to stick to your guns...Like I said, write your songs and be happy with what you create, if you think its a hit then so be it....Looking at your site and seeing how many hits you've have on it in the week its been out is pretty damn impressive, especially when your not actively promoting it....Plus seeing how many purchases you've recieved on snocap is pretty damn cool too, seems to me that a lot of people think its worth buying....

Especially when you factor in the fact that you basically wrote it, played all the guitars including the bass, did all the vocals, doing the recording and bringing in a old has-been drummer to re-record the drums is very impressive...Currently I don't know of too many musicans in this town that could have done what you've done so far...

The success isn't about these boards or how many hits you've had on your myspace site but all the people that have listened to your songs and enjoyed it...Those are the poeple who matter most..Listening to your other material I know your a fucking hardcore shredder and anybody that has the BIG FUCKING BALLS to go do a ballad and throw it out their is very cool...Tell me how many of these Squawkers can do that? Not many!

Stick to your musical guns cabron and your music will be appreciated by those who really like your material...Like I said, the only person that matters is you, your bandmates and your music and fuck the rest...

Respectfully,

John-RELE Drummer.
