Below is an edited version of an email I received from the 48 Hour Film Project (www.48hourfilm.com/newmexico) which is happening simultaneously with the Duke City Shootout in the next few weeks:

"...We're having a Meet and Greet Happy Hour on Monday at Harlows. If you are available, it would be great to have you come and let the team leaders and potential team members know about this (using local music for the soundtracks of 48 Hour Film Project and Duke City Shootout - ch). The event is from 5 to 8.

I'd love to invite the musicians to the event.

If any of the musicians are interested in providing the musical scores, we should get them in touch with the filmmakers. We give awards for the "Best Original Song" and "Best Original Score".

All of the music that our filmmakers use needs signed release forms. I've attached the form that we require. We can't screen the films
without the release documents.

This sounds like a great idea. I'm a former musician myself (bass player)
and I know that music is SO important to a film."

This is a great opportunity for you to meet folks from both the film and music industries and do a bit of schmoozing. I'm posting another thread about submitting your music for the soundtracks to these films. We also need volunteers for the fest.
