needed: songs to make suitable mix disc to take on road.
I'm short a few.
Stuff like Eastbound and Down by Jerry Reed or Zero Stars by Poster Children, etc.
They must be themed about touring/smuggling/shipping/driving/evading police, and should be awesome (I will also accept general car themed songs, at least until I see what I get).
Genre no issue.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions, and once I have 80 minutes-ish I'll post the whole mix so you also can enjoy recklessly hauling ass if you so choose.
Road trip the way God intended- with stereo blazing and left arm out the window (unless it's too cold).

Maybe I should have Googled this theme, someone has probably compiled something similar already.
But I'm not as into that.

pretty much any fu manchu song would work. personal favorite ... superbird

Artist : Fu manchu
Song : Superbird

Took my superbird
Down to the track
Saw camaro duel hemi-stacks
Flag went down
Hear the rubber burn
Lucky shift
Got me in the turn
Must have been ridin
With lady luck
Flipping his wig
His gears are stuck
The camaro..
So far behind
I’m out of gear
Coasting to the line!

Solid!

Foot off the gas
A man alive
I shoved it down
Into overdrive
I pulled away
I’m feeling fine
Superbird screaming
Anytime

Springsteen. Gotta get some Springsteen on there. "Thunder Road" might do nicely, or "Out in the Street," or "Cadillac Ranch."

Edit: Duh. "State Trooper" would also be a great addition, particularly if you can find a rockin' live version.

Are you amplified to rock?

Taj Mahal has a great version of Six Days on the Road...
And I'd have to turn in all my tie-dyes if I didn't mention Truckin' by the Dead, (any live version from any Deadhead, or the Europe '72 cut).

Rickey Nelson- Travlin' Man
Meat Puppets- Lost, New Gods
Hank Williams- Ramblin' Man
Gorky's Zygotic Mynci- Spanish Dance Troupe
GBV- Quality of Armor (listen to it now before it will soon remind you of a car commercial)
Beach Boys- Leaving This Town (that's one of their 'deep' cuts)
Robyn Hitchcock- I Often Dream of Trains
Nick Drake- Road
The Shaggs- That Little Sports Car
Toots- Country Road
Mercury Rev- Goddess on a Highway
Merle Haggard- White Line Fever

Flying Burrito Brothers- Six Days on the Road

Most of these are "leaving" or "going" type themes, so I took some liberties on this list.

CLUTCH - Spacegrass

Dodge Swinger 1973, Galaxy 500,
All the way stars' green, gotta go.
Dodge Swinger 1973, top down, chassis low,
Panel dim, light drive, Jesus on the dashboard.
T-minus whenever it feels right, Galaxy 500.
Planets align, a king is born.

Whenever it feels right

Dodge Swinger 1973, top down, chassis free,
Buzz Aldrin, Armstrong, or maybe just me.
Don't worry, it's coming.
Don't worry, it's coming.
Jesus on the dashboard.

Whenever it feels right
I turn on the radio.

Hey kid, are you going my way?
Hop in, we'll have ourselves a field day.
We'll find us some spacegrass,
Lay low, watch the universe expand.
Skyway, permanent Saturday.
Oh, by the way, Saturn is my rotary.
Hop in, it'll be eternity
Till we make it to M83.

Once around the Sun, cruising, climbing.
Jupiter cyclops winks at me, yeah, he knows who's driving.
Hit neutral in the tail of a comet.
Let the vortex pull my weight.
Push the seat back a little lower.
Watch light bend in the blower.
Planets align.
A king is born.
Dodge Swinger.
Jesus on the dashboard.

Whenever it feels right

I'm still trying to track down some of the suggestions. I have 80 min now, but a couple aren't as good, so. I will post it when it's finalized, so everyone can have a chance to take issue with my choices!
