Hey all you skeedaddy rockers and wannabe's we have a new project out at- http://cdbaby.com/cd/decades and want ya'all to check it out. Just like the rest of you I have been burned by bars that don't pay, bass players that don't show and all that jazz. Fuck it, its about the music. We don't give a shit about money, just want to share the music. Give it a listen, if you like leave a review and help out some local NM musicians. ROCK ON!!!!! If you need FAT drumtracks for your projects or graphics for your CD covers contact me at- rpc2000@msn.com
Didn't mean to offend the "reliable" bass players out there, just joshing a bit. There are multitudes of incredibly talented musicians in NM, too bad there is such poor support and crappy venues. Seems to be a lack of talented drummers and most don't know what a paradiddle is (i was in marching band once upon a time, haha). ROCK ON all you skeedaddy's!
Just got notice that "Decades the Collective" CD will soon be on Apple I-tunes and Verizon Wireless. Digital distribution is a good way to expand your audience. Check it out and help some homegrown musicians! Peace.
This forum is very enlightening and entertaining. Good crossbreed of radical real rockers, and just plain strangeness. Checking out the soundbites it seems to be primarily generation X which is cool. All you young un's keep on rocking!!!!!!! We all started somewhere and the primary music thing should be continuous improvement. Haven't got any reviews on the DECADES CD yet but a lot of hits on the site. Is this music too polished for the young set????????
Sheen, we're actually both wrong. What you wrote looks more like pataflafla or single ratamacue, only the ratamacue begins with a double bounce(drag) on that hand. Pataflafla's have another flam(alternating) on the 4th 16th note. Swiss Triplet: (l)R R L (r)L L R Drumtiger, straight flamadiddle: (l)R L R R (r)L R L L. Yours looks right with the inversion except for you put an extra stroke at the ends.

Freaking amazing considering i haven't used this stuff in over 20 yrs. Once upon a time i used to compete in snare drum competitions and was 1st seat snare drummer in USAF drum and bugle corps. Check out DAVE WECKL if you want to see my hero (besides NEAL PEART). Billy Cobham was also a monster drummer!
Manu Katche IS sick. For fun, try doing rudiments with your feet. Double stroke roll becomes not as easy, to say the least. Lately I've started working with flams and five stroke rolls with my feet. Shit makes for some tight muscles the next day. On that note, any of you drummers know any better techniques to stretch the muscle on the outside of your shin, other than just pressing your foot towards your toes which are curled underneath?
While we're on it, Triple Ratamacue: (ll)R(ll)R(ll)<RLR3>L* -alternate, repeat
*Note that the three alternating strokes(in either hand) should be played as a triplet(hence <RLR3> ). html does not good annotation code make.
