I say we start out-sourcing! We can bring in some hard-rocking east Indians! Not only will the scene bulk up, but we can cut costs by 72%!

Yep - very sad indeed. Not to mention this will lead to the demise of a few good bands in the process. Someone needs to grow some rock n' roll babies quick...looking your way mr. crandall.

What blows my mind is the lack of new bands. They used to be cropping up all the time but that's even come grinding to a halt.

Lack of attendance at shows these days seems to be at an all time low. Went to the launchpad on sunday to see a band that came here all the way from spain and there were very few heads in the audience that weren't in the bands that played that night. By very few I mean like 3 or 4.

NEW BAND:

THE WORLD ON FYRE

Harry, Tony, and Chris of U7d "fame" are debuting this new vessel at the Dirty Hearts cd release. The music on the page is just U7d b-side type stuff but we'll have tunes up soon.

Yeah rock squawk folks seem to keep to themselves. There is kind of a closed circle here among squawkers. The new bands are in Albuquerque there just seems to be huge gaps in the scene. Just go check out bands that veil arms clothing works with to promote shows.

Nah, i check things out as much as I can and when my schedule allows. It's not the same as it used to be. Bands used to grow like weeds...doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

The noise scene seems to be thriving but outside of that it just seems slow. Then a bunch o' musicians have been leaving every year for the past few years.

Where are thee youth?

That is a bummer. I like what I've heard/seen from all three of those dudes.

Like Zac says, the noise scene here is pretty amazing. The only kind of project I have running now is a noise duo and that is pretty sporadic.

I think I may have found a guitar player for a garagey-type band. Anyone want to play organ or sax?

Huh??

None of that statement makes any sense or seems to have any fact involved in it's construction. What are you talking about?

Sombody needs to put down the energy drink and take a nap...

Hey I never got to follow up on this one. Look I find out about bands from Albuquerque and the surrounding area all the time. I'm willing to accept that I'm perhaps so out of touch that perhaps the bands I've recently discovered have been around for a while. Here's a few. Amicus, Scendence (who I think used to be called winrock), Glen Mara, Easier Said than Done, This Story ends. I guess you all have heard of and seen these bands play.

Yeah it seems like some good musicians are splitting and also there seems to be a lack of new bands playing the local clubs...But with the local Po'Lice really hassling peeps around Central its almost a drag going downtown....Plus, places like Misty's who used to not have a cover is now charging to get into their place, since the bands haven't been drawing in crowds, which means less of a chance of new bands getting in there to play.

So their looking for bands who are established and can draw more than 5 people....Not to open up old wounds but places like the Golden West or Blue Dragon gave a lot of new bands atleast their first chances to play.

Anyways, I'm for making more babies as long as I don't have to raise any.....
