Trow my back out? Is that a euphemism?
But seriously - haven't thrown my back out in any sort of spine-misalignment way, but I have had all the muscles at the small of my back totally tighten up and then I'm stuck that way for a couple of minutes. Not fun. Luckily it's never happened at a gig or anything like that, which is amazing when hauling bass amps around at my age. |

I did it about two months ago unloading the work truck at the dump. I found these heat therapy wraps that helped a lot. "ThermaCare", I think they were called. They actually heat up for 9 hours, unlike the shitty, greasy Icy Hot ones that Shaq peddles. They really helped a lot!
Hope you get better! I know how bad that can hurt! ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤ - ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`° www.myspace.com/theunemploid www.myspace.com/rageagainstmartinsheen |

I jacked mine a few years back, and it's never really been the same, despite chiropractors and massages. I have to a series of stretches everyday...

i've thrown my back out more times than i care to remember; the last time was this past xxx-mas. at first, my doctors just threw lortabs and valium at me, but i finally wised up and got into physical therapy. it's been a pretty grueling task, but i finally feel like i'm making substantial progress. i think daily stretching, regular massage therapy, and low-impact exercise can really help with an active back problem -- as well as preventing recurrence. plus, it's nice to be able to save the pharmaceuticals for recreational purposes rather than needing them to function. here's hoping you feel better soon!

Yeah I got a messed up lower back wich I messed up in my younger times working on the shipping and recieving docks then about 10 years ago I bent over to pick up my son and BAM! I couldn't stand up striaght, that was the craziest thing ever, how your mind says stand up Fool but your back says..."No Way!"
Now being a drummer with bad posture on the kit and after a long set my lower back is all stiff and aching..... But visits to the chiroprator and deep tissue massages work but just too expensive to have it done on a consistant level....So I pop a Vic and lay on my bed on my side and turn my upper body back and my lower torso foward and stretch it out then put some of this insane heat rub that my chiropractor gave me, kinda like Tiger balm X's 100..... Just gotta realize I'm gonna push 40 in August so it comes with the territory! John |

so I probably slipped a disc in my spine. Im so stiff in my neck I could become a great politition!
Yeah so I woke up yesterday looked at the ceiling tried to lift my head and bam, this twinge in my neck came on and grew to horrible pain and never let go. Thank god for accupuncture and hot pads. no head banging for a long while. the dude abides My ass could write a better song with one cheek tied behind my nuts!!! |

Used to throw my lower back out o n a regular basis. My solution was to drink a couple of beers, lay flat on my back on the floor and relax. After about an hour, snap crackle and pop and I was a new woman.
After years of activities that have strengthened my back, I don't have the problem any more. Of course I also don't have the flexibility either, but that's another topic on another board. I thought about accupunture for a long time, I think that might be the ticket......How many visits do u go to Nicholas before you feel any relief?
But I like jenny's idea about having a few beers and laying on the floor too! John |

i'm not, ahem, nicholas, but i do the acupuncture thing seasonally and there is an amazing d.o.m. here in the duke city named ray mazon. i've seen around a dozen acupuncturists in my day and he is the best! i typically only go once or twice a season. but everyone's different, eh? you can browse his website here.
