Dude I love that town the kids there love music nowadays. They've kept talking about us for a long time. We still get messages from people who say my friend saw you in Poactello.

Oh man, RacerX is as commie as they come. Have a conversation with him. Dude's always, "Workers this and proletariat that," and he's got more cats in his house than televisions in, so you know how THOSE kind of people are.

let's all move there.

it gets better! they even have an unofficial anti-crawl every year. We played it this year and it was tons of fun. Apparently the club crawl is not liked by alot of the local musicians as everyone in attendance hated it in a similar way to albuquerque folks. They had the same things to say "too many jocks, too many cops."

Heres a few more to add to the list… I wouldn’t say “Sketchy Tour Venues” But they might help if looking for a place to play out of ALBQ.

Modified Arts – Phoenix, AZ a cool all ages art gallery, Stage and PA but no bar however good crowd and decent merch sales. Look them up on myspace.

Neverland – St. George UT another cool all ages! Its an old school gym with good stage workable PA, again no bar. Great crowd, great merch sales. Again on myspace

House of Rock n Roll – El Paso, TX ok, venue. Cool stage and PA and bar! We played on an unprompted Tuesday night, so who knows… I’m sure with some decent promoting it could be decent. Plus they also give you an STD pay by the hour motel room for free! So at least it’s a place to stay if needed.

The Bean – Las Cruces, NM Small coffee shop – No Stage, No PA, No Bar (I know it doesn’t sound promising) But we had an awesome crowd and lots of merch sales. Best to book with a decent local Las Cruces band, so they can bring a PA. lol

Now the cool Las Cruces venue is The Farm.
Chris Mason books it. He's formerly of The Answer Lies and is currently in Shangalang. Good people.

I'll throw "Q-Time" in Las Cruces in there as a cool tour venue. PJ was cool as shit to us when we went down there. Money would have been better but we played RIGHT before ... err... maybe it was Warped Tour?.... I don't remember. So the crowd was slightly lackluster.

Great place though. And he's been doing massive improvements on it. The name just changed though.... and I'll be damned if I remember what the new one is.

I just thought since its that time of year when bands hit the road, that I'd pull this thread out from under the troll shit and shake the dust off of it.

What's the word on venues? We're working on a thing after our CD release in May. So far we got a few places, but in a lot of the towns we're hitting, venues don't want to book anything if its during the week; they only do weekends.

We have played the surley wench and that went okay. We've also played a few warehouse type places but I have no idea how you'd book them. Our friends out there set everything up.

Also played vaudeville and that was cool. It was pretty slow on sunday or monday but I think a weekend show would do well.

The best place to play is probably club congress but I think you need to be bigger to play there.

I have a huge list of good and bad tour venues. No time to post it right now though. Maybe later.

The place in Socorro is called the Capitol Bar, no PA but those college kids down there are bored as fuck, and treat you like rock-stars. We played there with Scenester and Kimo. I little way into Kimo's set I heard an old cowboy say: "little guy sure has a good voice". Walking in it was a little bit like the shit-kicker bar scene in The Blues Brothers. But we didn't get into any fights.

We leave the fighting to the customers, and it happens. Thanks for the Socorro tip. Got any contact info?
