I just added a section on the classified section of the alibi website that allows users to upload fliers to shows! The alibi classifieds page gets LOTS of visitors so it may be a cool new way to promote yourselves. Give it a shot... it's FREE... oh the file size is limited to 500k so you are gonna have to use the "save for web" feature in photoshop Levi... btw I posted the RGTH cd release flier as a test to see if this is working

Woot! More space on the interweb! I think between Levi and yself we might be able to fill the WWW up.

Webmonkey, how do you post a flyer to the adspace?

i haven't tried it yet, but it looks to me like you hit that link that says "submit new ad" and fill out the form? There's a spot on the drop down menu for gig/show fliers.
Do we put in a web address for the flier in the message box? |

it just seemed like a text form to me.
it might take html, but I figured I would just ask the man. |

yeah, I just got the text form.
Best I could get was a link to the poster. Am I just stupid? i see there are fliers up there. Of course, I notice some Alibi employees in those bands... |

You can put URLs in the post... just put "www.yourband.com" and the thing should automatically link it (no need to put in HTML) Right now you can't put HTML in there. make sure you put in the www and this should work
Also... you have to place the "ad" first... put in a category, headline, text... after you hit "submit" then you can attach the image (flyer) to the ad (post) Just click on the camera icon Gigs/flyers is under music/musicians... i know that drop down is hard to read... something that needs improvement hope this helps |

Do they expire after the show date? Does someone have to remove them? I notice they are just in the order they were submitted.

Bump.
I keep forgetting where it is. You folks should pin this. Actually, you should pin up a few more topics, like where to send new band requests and stuff, and lock them, and put them in announcements or someplace. |

As of now they don't expire after the gig date. That would require adding a whole date thing to the system and complicate everything. The newest postings just go to the top. You can manage your "ads" when you are logged-in and delete past events if you want to.
Here's a link to the flyer section... http://www.alibi.com/ads/display.php?desired_page=classy_ads&category=820 |
