This was my first show, too. But instead of ending up in El Paso after taking too much acid, I ended up at Chili's with my friend and his mom, and then got a ride back to Albuquerque in their mini van. So we pretty much had identical experiences.

THE fine line between honest and ass-hole

Alabama in like '83 and Huey Lewis the same year.(my older sister took me to both of them, didn't really like either, but was stoked to go.) In '85 or '86 I worked backstage at a Roy Clarke show...I walked into the "green room" wearing a Sabbath T-shirt while Roy was warming up....he saw me, and started playing "Crazy Train" on his fiddle. That gave me a new respect for him as a musician. That is also when I figured out that music was music...it is all in the approach.

Actually, the first "REAL" concert I went to was U2 first night of the Unforgettable Fire tour in '84, Dallas, TX. That means I must've seen Petra in like '83. Fuck I'm getting old. Good thing I stay fucked up all the time. It prevents me from maturing so I feel young!
