I think my parents dragged me to a Basia concert when I was too young to protest. I don't count this one. The earliest I can remember was The Ramones and Pearl Jam in Cruces. Yes they actually played a show together. It was sick! I lost track of how many hits of acid I took after six, puked on all over a bouncer, and woke up in El Paso. Epic.

Why you throw rocks my dog when he no bark you?!

Doobie Brothers and Ducette. Tingley or Kiva, probably 1978 or so. Brutal.

38 Special. North Dakota state fair. Early 80s, I can't remember exactly. First one I paid for myself was Violent Femmes, in like '92? Man, my memory is so shot...

Metallica, Candlebox, Fight, and Suicidal Tendencies at UNM Stadium circa '94.

Alice in Chains was supposed to play this one, but Hetfield punched out Layne Staley and AIC dropped off.

Kick ass show.

This was my first show, too. But instead of ending up in El Paso after taking too much acid, I ended up at Chili's with my friend and his mom, and then got a ride back to Albuquerque in their mini van.

So we pretty much had identical experiences.

Alabama in like '83 and Huey Lewis the same year.(my older sister took me to both of them, didn't really like either, but was stoked to go.)
In '85 or '86 I worked backstage at a Roy Clarke show...I walked into the "green room" wearing a Sabbath T-shirt while Roy was warming up....he saw me, and started playing "Crazy Train" on his fiddle. That gave me a new respect for him as a musician. That is also when I figured out that music was music...it is all in the approach.

Actually, the first "REAL" concert I went to was U2 first night of the Unforgettable Fire tour in '84, Dallas, TX. That means I must've seen Petra in like '83. Fuck I'm getting old. Good thing I stay fucked up all the time. It prevents me from maturing so I feel young!
