This list is mostly slanted toward the heavier genres (mostly because that's what I'm into), but feel free to add more if you have them.

Some local publications are listed HERE (Thanks, Levi 11).

---------------------------------------------------

PEACEDOGMAN:

Peacedogman.com PO Box 105, Shrewsbury PA 17361 USA

We review punk, old-school hard rock, death metal, indie rock, acoustic stuff, whatever. You may want to re-think your submission if you band plays Cuban dance music...but if you're unsure, take a chance and if it's that weird, we'll just get Dutchman to review it.

Turnaround time for reviews is about 2-3 weeks, but no promises. If you think we goofed or forgot about you, drop us an email. Some bands send us 2-3 copies of their cds in a single packet. They usually get reviewed faster. Go figure... Vinyl is ok too.

----------------------------------------------------

MONOLITH:

Monolith.gr estimated some limits in reviews' policy. It's hard to cover all the music genres and it's hardest to be as kind as possible.
So, we review doom metal by counting in the straight doom, the street doom, the classic doom and the epic doom rock/metal bands. We pay respect to drone, sludge and doom/death bands but we cannot review them.
As for the heavy rock and stoner rock category, we review desert, fuzz, stoner, heavy, psych and kraut/prog heavy rock bands. We're very sorry but we cannot include punk, gothic and glam bands into our 'lith.
Thanks for your understanding and co-operation.

THE METAL OBSERVER

I'm in a band, what should I do to get our release into "TMO"?

Well, that is easy. Just send your CD together with your band-info (always helpful) to: The Metal Observer, 9-807 McNeill Rd NE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada,T2E 5W5 or The Metal Observer, Enzianstrasse 14, D-83417 Kirchanschöring, Germany.
If you want to send it to a certain writer or want it reviewed by somebody special, write down his/her name into the letter or take a look at our profiles to see for the e-mail-addy and also the musical preferences, to see who might be best suited for your style.
If you have your efforts only as mp3-files, do NOT send them via email, but state an address, where we can download them. Still we prefer CDs, because they are not bound to the PC only!
Oh, and please allow a little time, we all are either working full-time or are at school/university, so it sometimes might take a while… But rest assured that everything WILL get reviewed!
Donations (also in large amounts) are always welcome, just drop us a line at donate@metal-observer.com and we will work out the details! (not that it would help your rating in any way Wink

I still have the issues from '94 and '96 when my band was reviewd in MRR, I fucking love that zine. HEART ATTACK is a good one too, Kent Mclard is good man, a little odd but still good for the scene.

Well now maybe Jasper won't have anything to bitch about....I'm sure he will be heart-broken.
Oh wait....he lives in SE NM, so there will be plenty for him to bitch about.

Thanx Racer.

The opinions expressed by Gnostic Dave are in no way affiliated with Rocksquawk, the alibi, cracksmoker, or any one else in the normal world for that matter.

So far we've gotten reviews from (in order):

Daredevil
PeaceDogMan
Stonerrock.com
and
Sleazegrinder.

A few more are reportedly in the works - Monolith, Stonerrockchick.com, and Lollipop, so if you're looking for press action, give some of these publications a try! Devil Riding Shotgun already has gotten quite a bit of press from a $300 unmastered demo and some packaging/postage costs. Good luck!
