I suggest you start this quest with a 6 of EKU 28. It makes Steel Reserve look like Bud Light.

i'm still looking for a bottle or two of real absinthe.

Some friends and I successfully ordered two bottles of King of Spirits Gold from this website. Very pricey, but... fun.

Hanger One (makers of wonderful vodka in Alameda, CA) are going to start distilling absinthe soon, but I haven't seen a definitive timeline.

Here are some absinthe importing laws. As individuals, the two points we are most interested in are 3 & 4 at the bottom of the page. And number 5 is what sometimes gets absinthe held up at customs. Ours made it through.

Weak.

I got pretty tipsy off of a glass of E&J vintage reserve brandy and a couple Heffenweizens last night.

By the way, I've got a questions for you winos. What's the cure for the Pavlov's reaction toward hard liquor? I've got gnarly sick from drinking whisky on more than a few occassions and since the last occassion--which had to have been this summer--I haven't been able to drink hard liquor comfortably. Any suggestions?

What kind of whiskey have you been drinking? Musta been bourbon from what you are saying. Try 12 year old Glenlivet mixed with ginger ale on the rocks to your taste... Also known as a Presbyterian. Gets you there and tickles the tummy at the same time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not too big on ginger ale, but I'll give it a shot.

Stop drinking E&J!

Foodstamps had a good suggestion to. Also try ginger ale or sprite, with some Tanqueray(gin) or Bombay.(most ladies like that combo)

Wild Turkey 101 (or as Neb calls it, "The Kickin' Chicken").

EDIT: This was NOT a suggestion for Gio.

I recommend Seagram's ginger ale over Canada Dry. If you want to shitcan the "normal" ginger ale thing, try Vernor's.

This is the road E&J will take your down:

I forgot to mention that the Scotch takes a lot of the ginger ale tase away so you're probably safe either way. Also, if you want to cheap out a bit you can try Dewar's White Label or Johnny Walker Red in place of the Glenlivet. Good stuff any way you make it.

I've been drinking some Xingu lately. It's like some weird cross between bock and stout.

Smiths in edgewood is liquidating their entire liquor section. I got some meyers jamacan dark rum and some E&J XO limited reserve brandy for cheap but I don't remember the price or really much after that.
