Is anyone playing at this Battle of the Bands thing coming up? Silly name for a club, and I don't think competition should be applied to something as objective as music, but they have a great stage and nice new monitors, so we let them sign us up for a slot on 8/4. What the hell. We'll see how it goes. It's on Tramway, which is pretty far from the usual downtown gig environment! Should be interesting.

Usually Primal Panic Music posts multiple flyers and bulletins on Myspace for all events. It will probably be there. Great sound system in the place, I played there quite a few times. Only complaint was the large drum mics partially covering my hitting area and guitars too loud in the monitor.

The Unemploid played at this place a couple months ago. Neat joint. Good room, stage, great equipment. A good representation of the heights jock element in the house. There's a separate room with the main bar in it with almost soundproof glass walls so's you can watch bands play without really hearing them. Weird. Plus, it's a relatively easy and safe half mile walk west from my house, so I can get liquored and schtagger home if necessary. I hope more downtown bands go and play there so I might actually get a chance to hear them!
I am going to try and make it up there to check you guys out and scope this venue but the fact that I'm blocks away from downtown makes it tough to drive all the way up there on a Friday. You guys go on first?

Looks like its going to be a fun time for all......Too bad I'm bandless right now but I'll be heading out to check some of you guys out........Sadly I live waaaaay on the other side of town but I'll try!
