There's not a dry eye in the house. Or an open one. My, look at the time.

Well where do we begin with this?

First: A casual perusal of 'Squawk thread topics yields a variety of subjects. A large percent of the material could be filed under "News of the weird" and "Check out this cool you tube video". Much of the other stuff only relates to the profession of music in a very superficial way. This forum is patronized by very few "music professionals". I don't consider someone who makes a few bucks on the weekend playing a gig as one even though technically they fit the definition. Even within the realm of full-time music folks that patronize this site fewer still are involved with the business of actually producing media(besides writing and/or performing).

Second: If you subscribe to Mix, Tape Op, EQ, Electronic Musician, Pro Audio Review, Keyboard, etc. you may understand what Jason is saying.

Third: Some folks may feel that a self-interview may be pretentious. It could be perceived as "Hey everybody. Look at what I did!"

I think Jason's enthusiasm about what he has accomplished is admirable. I've heard the CD, and it sounds pretty damn good. That the details weren't commented on in a thoughtful way was completely predictable. To deride him for trying to get his story out and commented on in a local music forum is lame.
If you don't like Supergiant or Jason, fine. If you don't understand or care about his story, fine. His frustration is fair. I don't think he insulted anyone by relating that.
It would really be cool to be able to communicate with other well-versed production professionals on a site like this and get constructive criticism and network with you peers. A lot of folks could learn something about their craft by reading details of the recording process. Heck, you'll see him at the CD release on 8-8-08 and could ask him about anything you didn't get from the article.
Oh well...

I was insulted.

I like all those guys like Super Brothers and the recording sounds professional, but Jason earned a dig.
