Before I send our CD off to CD Baby, does anyone have any particular negative (or positive) experiences with them?

Cd Baby is the best ever! I have had nothing but good experiance from them. They send your stuff everywhere, and send you offers and help to get the word out.

Its worth the $35 easy.

It is so much easier than any other kind of distribution. Just link to the page you set up and you are in business. I sure wouldn't want to deal with money and mailing myself. Unless you want to set up your own PayPal or take credit cards (considering the numbers of cds we are probably talking about, you'd end up spending even more) what really are your options if you are a small band? here's our page: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/romeogoestohell

what do you do, just send them a box of 100 cds or something and they take care of everything????

I've been selling them off of the website and that's been working fine so far. I'd be curious to see how good we did with cdbaby though.
The problem I see with them is that they don't distribute vinyl. To me that sucks...but I guess most places don't these days.

You may want to check out "Vinyl Baby." Er, maybe not. That sounds kinda gross.

Zac, that's pretty smooth with the links,the pay pal and the money order bit. Do people really send them? I can see people ordering from a form online, but I just can't see a lot of people mailing shit. I suppose if people like you enough to do a mail-away, then you probably wouldn't have much trouble moving them in whatever manner.

I've gotten a few mail ins but most of it comes through paypal. It's pretty easy to set up. Just steal the source for those buttons and change the values. Easy easy easy.

I think I'm going to try cdbaby as well. Do you guys actually sell much through them?
