As for the Atomic, how 'bout this...

Someone should paint two large red circles on the wall in the alley. Combatants must drink four beers in short order, then proceed to said alley to relieve themselves. Whosoever can maintain a decent stream the longest, while hitting the target wins!!

Of course, the original challenger has already defeated his purpose of "not reporting it" by posting in a public forum. No longer private. No longer alone. We're all with ya boyzzzz.

I guess I'll derail the thread back to it's original topic:

Of all the really nice people Tanuki has encountered, two really stick out for me. Sid Garcia did such an excellent job with our album, and probably kept us from killing each other in the studio. Rhian Batson is a constant source of encouragement and support for me and the group, and frankly I haven't met a nicer and more down-to-earth guy, period. He's gotta be building up a huge karma stash.

I'm pretty sure you could say that about a lot of bands. Ask the average person on the street about The Vines, say (who got a Rolling Stone cover) and you'd get blank stares. Even bands with more critical notice and sales, like Radiohead or The White Stripes. They sure as hell aren't The Beatles. The majority of people aren't going to own even one of those albums. The majority of people own a few CDs they bought in high school, or Now That's What I Call Music!, or yet another reissue of The Beatles or something like that.

I don't care at all about "recruiting" those people. I'm pretty sure that all the bands on here are only interested in an audience that gives a shit. And I don't think that's unique to Alb. either. How many millions of people live in Seattle? How many of them do you think owned a Nirvana album before they hit big? Even after they hit it big, I'm sure it was far less than 10 percent in their hometown.

As far as making a living off it... we do break even and drink well but no living. I have however taken stuff that came right out of being in a band (web sites, buttons, design, now t-shirts) and made that into a job (barely, but still..). I think there are a lot of musicians in town who, say, work at Grandma's or own a bar or something like that. Finding another angle helps out the band too: making connections and friends, paying less for your own merch, etc.

We are going out of town in a few weeks though, and there goes our breaking even. Fucking gas. Fucking being in the middle of nowhere.

On The Subject Of "Friends" and "Feelings".....

Although I like to think I'm on "friendly" terms with Levi, I have never done any "friend-like" activites with him, had a drink or three with the guy or borrowed money from him (although I recall owing him 20$ for an impolite amount of time).

My "feelings" about the guy have drastically changed with the advent of his gargantuan sig. That fucking thing takes up more horizontal space than my screen offers. Mousing the text to and 'fro, becomes too work-like. Yet I'm compelled to read his every word. Damn.....

My .02:
There is no plot without conflict. Neg or pos it all makes for good forum. Me likey! Personality differences aren't real world issues, however, if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, tell me all about it in your post, that's good forum! Me likey! Real world issues are all around us ( all ages shows, WalMart, Iraq, etc. ad infinitum) and if you're not part of the solution there is money to be made in prolonging the problem. Whether or not we can get along, get noticed, or get paid is immaterial, the camera is on and it's showbiz, baby. Don't forget to smile.
Lucas! Thanks for the shoutback. Are you out there playing? With whom?
Sean! Do remember when Cinnmon brought Raja into the world? Slim, trim, mean as ever, she may blind but she isn't done. Do some yellin' Magellan.

Yeah, you're right. I'll ditch it. I was getting sick of it anyway. There's an option to turn it off on the reply boxes, but I forget.

If it's too wide though, what you need to do is turn up your screen resolution. It fits comfortably on my screen. A lot of people have those huge icons, and the text set at large, and 5 toolbars, and low res, and they are looking at the internet through a little tiny peephole sized box. As a guy who makes web pages, it's a real hassle. Imagine making a TV show knowing that half of America has half the screen covered at any one time and blinders on.

Also, is there any way to adjust picture sizes in Rocksqawk?

And some people are semi-ludite, bi-focal wearers. But like I say, "Don't Hate The Player, Hate The Mayor". And thanks for your profesional attention to my gripe about your sig. (although I will admit I was a bit dissapointed you didn't challenge me to meet you in an alley somewhere....)

While I just stand there, smoking cigarrettes out of those long cigarrette holders, petting some exotic animal like a James Bond villian. I also have a monocle I put in for such occasions.

Or maybe i should do a cigar. Do they make long, effeminate cigar holders?

I just hope all the bands and musicians on here keep on truckin’, what would the Albuquerque music scene be like without any of you guys!! I’ll tell you, it would SUCK!!!

Just in case you all are wondering how it went down in the alley last night....
Everything is cool, we talked it out and I am totally ok with Joe. We cleared up all of the misperceptions that led to this conflict. I want to apologize for contributing to dragging this out.

Harry and Joe, good for you, guys. As long as it ended on an upnote. Also, Black Maria. Definitely. Shit, Mr. Brian Banks could probably take on the whole of THE black maria, by himself, whilst whistling dixie. My internet should be back on early next week, so I will once again be plunging into Rocksquawk headfirst. Snoogins.
