The new "Smashing Pumkins" album. It's only Corgan & the drummer from the original band, but considering that Corgan usually played Iha & D'arcy's parts in the studio, anyhow, that shouldn't make much of a difference.

haha, i like how we both simultaneously posted and put the name in quotes.

while billy is a studio hog, i do think on siamese dream james played some of his own stuff, and after that i think he did most of his own stuff.

Yeah, it wasn't all the time or anything, but supposedly fairly common.

The new single sounds okay, I guess, but I became so sick of Corgan's rapidly increasing whininess in the '90s that I have yet to recover, so I doubt I'll pick up the album.

yeah, and i'm sure on this entire album billy played everything but drums.

billy has lost his ability to whisper sing/scream, and now it just sounds like someone is continually kicking him in the nuts.

Very true. That drummer is a fucking monster. and obv. Billy Corgan does most the song writing/playing. i think the token hot bass chick and the trendy lookin' asian dude were just an early 90's alternative-rock aesthetic.

I heard the drummer did so much cocaine that he had to sign his soul over to Billy in order for him to pay off his debts.

I saw the Pumpkins on the Gish tour at the TLA in Philly and they fucking blew my mind... to this day one of the best rock concerts I have seen. It was pure psychedelic rock and it was before they were big-headed rockstars. I must have listened to Gish 10,000 times in highschool. I haven't really liked any of the music they have put out since then.

Yeah, "Siamese Dream" and "Gish" are the SP best albums. I'll probably pick up the new album, not sure what I think about it yet. All I have to say is that SP should have got back together before Billy made that Solo album, jeez now that's a piece of crap!
