Autobots, roll out.![]() ![]() |
It was good times. I noticed that the roof looks like its sealed off. I couldn't see daylight through it any more. Perhaps flooding will no longer be a problem during monsoon season. The new PA looks killer. Some new booths going in up top. Over all I'd say its a little nicer.
I couldn't help but notice that even the pretty little reporter there to do a story on the reopening started throwing some cold ones back. Tool and Chief |

I could still see some light through the roof, but it does look more finished? Also, it doesn't smell like smoke or paint or anything like you might expect. The new sprinkler system looks kinda cool. Can't wait to actually hear it!

Uh, I dunno about "stagnant as shit", maybe you just didn't see all the shows that happened at The Stove and The Agency, Misty's Hideaway, Hunab Hookah, Burt's and The Atomic... this scene is pretty fucking far from stagnant no matter what. Either way I'm glad the LP is back in business, and looking forward to rocking there, soon. |

good eye Skreech IT was good to be at the lauchpad last night. Saw a lot of MOFOs that I haven't seen in what seems like years. A beardless DaveFame and a glassesless Gonzalo was a lot to take in |

Agreed 100%. There have also been more house/basement/yard shows in the past 5 months than I remember there being all of last year. Lots of bands and people I'd never met before. Other venues: Outch'yonda, Bl0cks house, 1412 Gold House, Yale/Gold House, Peace and Justice Center, etc, etc,. With LP back the city will be even that much better. |

If you only look at night, you won't see anymore daylight through the roof. Problem solved. |

I think that stagnant can describe what was happening even before the fire. I know it tends to slow down in winter. But this year seemed ridiculous. Especially at the Launchpad (maybe cuz of cover - for the first time in years there were quite a few $3 shows at pad), especially for local bands or smaller/lesser known touring. ... Then it started to spread - to burts and atomic ... and then even to local bands not wanting to play as much. I am actually hoping that the positive to come from this fire is a "revitalization" of the scene, of passion for making, watching, listening to music; making and buying CDs and merch. I think that's why I'm so excited about Leeches as I said before
~ i wonder if i would be a respected musician if i just stopped with the 4/4 already |

Why does music not have a value? $3 is cheap |
|||
|
![]() -droppin plates ![]() |
Because even musicians don't value their music, and therefore most of society does not, either. |

It might first be important that the music actually have value prior to putting a price on it. yes? I've found one gets what they pay for.

I didn't say/mean that music doesn't have a value ... it just shows that the Launchpad felt they had to lower their $5 cover to get people to come out to see some local bands ... just one more example of a slow scene ~ i wonder if i would be a respected musician if i just stopped with the 4/4 already |
