So Joe and I spent the last two weeks building road cases that hold all our gear in one box. It was more work then we expected but usually DIY is. It was one of those things where we stepped back and looked at our creations proudly when we were done. Its been a while since I've worked construction and it was nice to build something again. I'm not sure if I want to paint something on the front of my box or just fill it up with stickers. Here they are.





They are HEAVY when fully loaded but I put rails along the back with handles at the top so its not hard for two people to get them on stage. Cost was about 140$ a piece for parts and for the wood. I sprayed them with rino truck bed liner on the outside. We'll see how that holds up.

No I won't build you one for a blowjob sorry. I don't really want to build another case again.

Damn Skreech! Those are fly cases. You'll have to tell us if they're super helpful when you guys are on the road and worth building.

Who did it? It looks like line drawing on top of water color with a little photoshop booyah to top it off. Am I close?

How do those load into your van? If you set them on their sides, won't the guitars jostle about and potentially get damaged?

Also, the disparity between an Orange head and a Crate head is pretty big. At least get that guy a fender tube amp.

Oh, I'm guessing the guitars just sit in there during the show. That would make more sense.

The guitars stay in the case. They fit in there pretty snug. When the door is closed the padding on the amp shelf keeps the guitars from going anywhere.

Actually his crate is louder then my orange. It is a tube head it's a 120 watt head and mine is just 100. Not really sure how they pump 120 through 4 6l6 tubes but its the only decent sounding crate in my opinion.

We have a trailer so we don't need to lay them down. It sure does cut down on setup time cause everything just stays plugged in except for the guitars.

This sets my organized heart a-pumping! You should make a case to fit these two cases into. Does your bass player feel like an ass while next to you two now? If this place had kudos I would totally give you one. The only critique I have is: seems like bigger wheels would make it easier to move.

If I didn't have back problems I'd totally do something like this, and I'd put lights, a little tv, maybe a mini-fridge in there. Maybe a change of clothes. All the things you'd need in case you were on the way to a show and ended up in the Land of the Lost.

I used to work concert security at the big shows NMSU hosted about 10-12 years ago.
Bands like Metallica, Steve Miller and New Edition had wardrobes like that. Huge cases with clothes, shoes and all kinds of stuff. Rockstars.

wow, those look really impressive. nice work dudes... you locos!!! where did you get the idea to do this?

surplus city has huge casters. i'd put some 4 inch wheels on those puppies, maybe even some pneumatics. that way you could roll it over grass, stones, etc.

Also, i'd cut a little hole behind the tube amps and mount a computer fan. otherwise you risk overheating your amps.

If there was a way to make them like 90 pounds lighter, that'd be cool. I had the uh pleasure? of helping to load those bastards in the trailer once. Yeah, never again. Not only did I hurt my back, I hurt my self-esteem.

I told Joe before we built them that we would have to be a team at gigs and both of us would have to move both of them. We have a method that is actually quite easy. The case itself isn't very heavy. It's everything in them that is. The only other concern would be small stages. But if we are on opposite sides of the stage and we open the doors to a 90 then we take up the same amount of space. This however would be impossible at burts. So we would just kick nate's amp off stage.

God forbid we ever have to haul them up or down stairs.

heavy duty casters w/flip locks so they wont roll on a slight grade...those wont last a tour if you got idiots attempting to help...and id also put another set of handles near the bottom of the cases so lifting on taller stages wont put such a strain on your backs when using proper lifting technics(sic)...

those are some bad ass lookin cases though...id slap all the sickers you can get and/or have already to protect the paint job
