The Decline - NOFX. Any body that can pull off an 18 minute long punk song that encompasses the major problems in our modern society gets my vote.

Most would call Type O Doom Metal though... but where, pray tell, does one draw the line?

It is impossible for me to choose one punk song as a favorite. That is like saying "who is the hottest girl in the world" ... it is just an impossible thing to ask. There are far too many flavors to choose from.

That said my favorite bands were Black Flag, Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Misfits, Sex Pistols, Social D. etc, etc... 7 Seconds, Sick of it All, Scream, Minor Threat, Fear, Sheer Terror ... but the bands that fringed on white supremacy, racism and/or straight-edge movements was always a HUGE turnoff for me even though I liked some of their songs. That crap goes against everything I see as "punk" which the power of the INDIVIDUAL. Not being in a stupid gang) (skinheads) or feeling like you have to act a certain way to be into a band is not punk in my book... just retarded. As Davefame can attest, where we grew up near Philly the skinheads were a constant hassle at all punk rock shows in the area back then.
