right. that's why you should have costume changes and explosions.

Now you're talking, I think the overhead spinning drum rack could make a comeback as well. Geez and I was just starting to think AADD was the culprit here.

Playing the Croc is a lot of fun. I hadn't had fun playing a venue in a while.

That being said, I think I'll "double whammy" it next time we play up there and bring both the e-kit and the "big guns". Plenty of space up there for the six of us.

For once I agree with Dave...I don't think I could watch any local band for 2 hours. Come to think of it, ANY band period.

What venue is this? Crazy Crocs? And where is it? Because that is a big factor on the kind of bands you book there. It's cool that you're doing this though. There's been kind of a void in the scene these past few weeks, especially of the all-ages calibur.

Right on, I'm gigging at a new venue on Central that night from 6-10 and also the night before at Crocs (8 sets in 2 days) and I'll come check you out on the way home. This should be about FUN and getting paid is just icing on the cake!!!

We've been getting requests from local young folks in RR for some punk/alt shows and I'm doing the best I can to set it up as well as booking LOCAL hardworking musicians.

I'm not going to get into the boring long show debate here with grownups young enough to be my own kids. Some people like it, some don't, nuff said. It could be a byproduct of the video game age. Smile

Do you think a good crowd would show up to one of these shows? It doesn't seem like the regulars would appreciate punk, or anything like it. Am I wrong?

The regulars definitely won't appreciate it, that's why we're talking about a Wednesday night, the bands will need to get the word out and there are a lot of punk/alt fans on the westside and in RR. This won't be an all ages event as best I can decipher currently. Usually if you have 3-4 bands w/friends the crowds will be there (and hopefully not be drinking water).

We've been known to do the same song twice in a night when requested (tipped to do so). I never know what will happen beyond a certain set of songs. Playing a wide variety of styles from rock to country to funk and back to rock seems to keep people's attention.

"every night is an adventure in the closet of 300 covers"

Discussed the multi-band young guns show some more with the owner today. He's thinking of doing it on a Tuesday paying something like $150 for the night. With tips and a full house it shouldn't be hard to get this up to $200 if ya'all can get the young rockers on the westside to come.

This feels good, sure hope it happens! We're playing with a young gun band on May 24th called Good as Dead. They have DAMN good demo's on myspace. I like it, generational rock baby!!!

Maybe the original Zots and/or Black can relate. Smile
