I wanted to share with you guys this underground documentary on Norwegian black metal that I came across on YouTube. It is a five part video. There is an extended interview with Gaahl, the eccentric lead singer of the band Gorgoroth and one of Norways most notorious citizens. Three Americans ventured out to his house in the middle of the mountains to interview him. I'm not into satan or black metal really but this is some pretty interesting stuff to learn more about. There has always been so much mystery behind it. Here is the first part...
That's a funny choice of words! Does he talk about eccentrically torturing that guy? Big Grin
Well if you watch all 5 parts you will learn a lot more about him. More than just some crazy sociopath, he comes across to me as some kind of mad genius. The guy that he "tortured" was someone who came on his land to intentionally fuck with him and his property and was caught in the act. A lot of the "rednecks" in Norway hate this guy and try and fuck with him so he just he "punishes" people who mess with his family. I also think the media sensationalized the whole story and he probably lets that happen because it adds the curiosity.

"Metal: A Headbangers Journey"? i think... was a pretty sweet doc on VH1 a few years back. They had a section with a bunch of norwegian black metal dudes and I think one of em had a necklace made with pieces of his dead buddies skull or something... anyone see that??
black/death metal has never really done it for me. I don't mind the intensity of the music, but thematically I've never been impressed.

If you look at the candle burning in the background you'll see it moving. the tape isn't paused. The film crew were probably tortured after the last question hence, end of interview
