i would love to see it the way it was but, since most of the LP was anchored on the fire partition wall separating the two buildings, and that wall will have to be torn down and replaced - i dont see how it can go back to what it was... the office, the little green room upstairs, the stairs to the balcony (fallen down more than once), the bathrooms (thank god their gone, jk), the awesome rocket behind the bar, all of it has to be replaced. its going to be an entirely new place. so it would be pretty sweet to see it re-done well. or even expanded...

i had always day-dreamed that the empty space directly to the west of the LP could be bought and connected to the LP. it seemed like a logical way to expand the bar with out compromising anything, if it were ever to happen. obviously alot of us are thinking it could move into the new available lot where the GW used to be. but i also think like many of us that there is more to this than an accidental fire... fraud by the owners seems possible, but i think that some big dolla fat cats could have a paw in this. or shit-eating-spineless-backstabbing-greedy politicians getting some coin in their pockets for securing a plot of land for a new starbucks. lol. sooo, i dont think it will be that easy to axquire.

it will be interesting to see what happens

old or new, i just hope it happens soon.

Joel, your nuts. If I saw this 200 feet from my apartment, I'd be heading for stairs.

I made some Launchpad support buttons. 1 inch.
They are free to anyone who wants one. Wear it all over town, let everyone know you need the Launchpad back!
Just go to Owl Green's, 112 second st SW and ask for one. If they run out, I'll make more. I dropped a bag of 'em off there today. You should also buy something there, since Noelan is also a Launchpad employee, and those folks are working their ass off harder than ever and will be hurting for $.

Yeah for sure. But the worst part about the whole Great White tragedy was that Great White got away...unscathed.

Yeah I'm certainly dropping some dough at OWL GREEN'S as soon as I possibly can...even if I have to walk out with a funky-ass guitar or old-ass electric piano I don't really need.

Terrible. Where will all the awesome nu-metal bands play now? Jokers Pub is such a long drive.

I think it's really too bad that some folks have connected recent local events with a tragedy that occurred somewhere else years ago. The predominant issue here is the loss of property. The issue with the Great White fire was loss of life. We all ought to be relieved that no one was killed in the Golden West fire.
This topic should stay on or around the point: What is going to happen to the local scene with it's finest music club closed and another gone for good. Bringing up a past event that has nothing to with our current predicament is pretty lame.
If you didn't care for Great White's music--fine, but you need to look in the mirror at a person that finds humor in the death of others.
You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

No shit. At least Great White had insurance. Wonder who'd have paid the families off if the fire had been during a show...

How is that possible? Do you get the person to stand next to you?

Anyway, thanks a lot. I just looked in the mirror, and now my day is absolutely ruined. All I can do is swing wildly between "Keep the mustache?" and "Lose the mustache?

Shave the mustache, but keep the clippings in a plastic bag under your pillow, so you can paste them back on when the mood strikes.

Oh wait... you must be a Great White fan. My condolences.
