what are some ways to turnout lots of people to a weekend show with only local bands at the launchpad?

you gots to own the stage---eventually they will come...

Myspace and flyers. We have only played one show so far and it was out in Edgewood where no one had been yet. We counted 80 people which is pretty good for a first show.

Make sure you have no big competition at the other bars. I try to get a night that I know nobody will steal our crowd (like, up against reggae bands or something). This is harder at the 'pad since they book in advance and post shows in advance of the other bars. In that case, yeah I just try to flyer them into oblivion...

We flyer and myspace the shit out of albuquerque also go to the other shows at the launchpad or where ever you are playing and talk to people about the show/hand them a pocket sized flyer. That's what has worked for us.
