Below is some simple HTML sample code that can be used a guide to customize the top of your band forum.

<table width="650" border="1" align="center" bordercolor="#000000" bgcolor="#666633" cellpadding="10">
<tr>
<td>

<img src="http://jemezweb.com/jemezweb/rustedout/images/vanimages/van.jpeg" width="225" height="150" border="1" align="right"><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><strong><font color="#000000" size="+1">Soggy Mountain Dirt Chickens</font></strong><br>
Albuquerque, NM</font><p><font size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Joe Blow</strong> - Vocals<br>
<strong>Mike Black</strong> - Drums<br>
<strong>Steve Jon </strong>- Guitar<br>
<strong>Eric White </strong>- Bass</font></p>
<p><font color="#CCCCCC" size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Some of you may already know this, but by adding a bit of HTML to the "Intro Wording" in your "forum details," the forum moderator can customize your band's profile. I'm starting this forum to be a guide for people who want to customize, add MP3s, pictures, etc. Right now I'm just testing to see what can be done within the constrains of the current blog system we're using. Any hints/suggestions are encouraged!</font></p></span></body></html>

</td></tr></table>

This is super-cool.
but I'm still unclear on where to put it?

"Intro Wording" in your "forum details"

Where is that at?
Can you change scrollbar or cursor stuff?
Style sheets?
Backgrounds or text in these parts (the boxes)?

To paste in this code, first you have to be logged-in as the moderator of the particular forum.

At the top of the page there is tabs
"Go New Find Notify Tools Admin"

Click on "Admin" then "forum settings"

There you see a form that has the "forum name, Category, description (goes under your forum name in the main menu) and "Intro Wording"

The intro wording always appears above all the topics in when someone goes to your forum.

I'm still trying to figure out what all can be done. Just started playing around. CSS doesn't seem to work, but basic HTML does. I couldn't seem to get the font colors to change either, but you can put in background images (or sounds) (hosted off of another server)

If anyone knows how to overwrite the site-wide style sheets in particular forums please report back!

WOW, putting a background source in a particular comment actually affects the entire page. I may have opened up a can of worms.

Hmmm.... after "forum settings" I get "you don't have permission, blah blah.
I guess I'm moderator in name only.

I believe you should now have the power to do this. I had to change permissions for moderators of forums. Right now I changed yours only for a test. Let me know if it worked. Thanks

If anyone is interested in tweaking their own forum, let me know and I will change your account to where you can have admin access on your forum. Unfortunately, it looks like this will have to be done one by one so just let me know if you're interested and I'll make the change for your forum.

No luck?
Under "admin" it still reads "you do not have permission..." I got rid of my cookies and cache and re-logged in, thinking maybe...but it didn't help. If I go to the edit-profile area I have a long confusing list of permissions and other extra stuff now, but I can't figure out where and how to use them. I haven't seen anything like "forum name, Category, description, Intro Wording."

oops, this EVE software is new to me. You now should have access to the EVE control panel. Sorry to make you the guinea pig, but once we iron-out the details, this will be a cool feature.

You can easily change the look (COLORS) of your forum by clicking on the "display" tab once in the control panel. There are a number of default styles in there. Check out the The Gracchi's forum.

If anyone else wants admin access to their forum, email me at webmonkeys@alibi.com and I will modify your account. Please include your Screen Name!

It works! Thanks!
I was able to get a style sheet to work, with everything inside a <style> tag. Did the background color, scrollbar, cursor, etc. in there. Somethings are still over ruled and turn weird, but it looks ok for now. I'll dig into it later. Very cool, thanks again!

how do you get the threads (like in here) to work?
Even the reply box has color, that's cool.
