We are seeking a new director for the ABQ Music Association and we encourage anyone who is interested to apply. Below is a brief description of the position:

Director is responsible for:
member and sponsor recruitment;
procuring membership benefits;
attending and sponsoring various events in the entertainment scene;
planning and facilitation of monthly musician’s workshops;
maintenance of myspace site, yahoo group, and email;
networking with the entertainment scene;

Qualificiations
must have some sort of connection to the local music scene;
understanding and knowledge of the music industry as a whole;
resourceful; reliable; self-motivated.

This is a non-paying position however, the possibility for income does exist.

Is the ABQ Music Association still affiliated with The City of Albuquerque?

Yes we are still affiliated with the city (via the Albuquerque Music Advisory Board) and the state (via the NM Music Commission), but we are not, nor ever have been a city agency. I created the Association as an independent entity and modeled it on what I would (at the time) like to have a city music office look like.
