After much deliberation, I've decided to leave the band. I've had a great two and a half years creating and performing music with Alan and Neb. This truly has been the best band I have ever been a part of. I just need a break. Music is still going to be a major part of my life (Piano lessons! Does anybody know a good Jazz drum teacher?). It looks like they are going to forge on, which I hoped they would do. If you're a skilled drummer (gots to bring it with these two, not just 4/4 but 13/8, 10/8 7/4 5/4 etc.) who wants to jam with a couple of great musicians and people, hit them up. I'm sure there will be an 'official band statement' but I just wanted to let people know what's up.
Later.

In lieu of an "official band statement," I'd like to take this opportunity to wish John the best of luck in the future - personally, musically, and with his upcoming gender reassignment surgery.
But seriously, thanks for 2 and a half years of music, John. Keep on bangin'.
Have you tried Nick Luchetti? I don't know what he's up to now, but back in the day, he was a hell of a player, and a great teacher. The # on his business card is 615-5724
