It's been a good run, but Neb will be moving to Portland within a month or so, and that will be the end of DRS.

All of us are saddened by this because this band is the best thing any of us have been involved in, but there are other aspects of life that sometimes eclipse the musical, and this is the case here.

For now, the focus is getting the new material (6 songs) recorded, so there will be a permanent record of their existence. We are quite proud of the new songs, and hopefully they will allow us to put DRS into the casket looking as good as possible for a corpse.

We would like to have a farewell show and will be trying to book one, but if that doesn't work out, the DAMNWEEVIL show at Burt's on 5/30 will probably be our last hurrah.

Huge thanks to our families, friends, fans, associates, and all the bands we've shared a stage with over the past 3 years. It's been a great experience, but soon it will be just a memory. Thanks for being a part of it.

On to the future!

Now that the end of DRS is official, I want to publicly acknowledge the genius, as well as the friendship, of Neb and Alan. Musically, we mesh as well as anyone I have ever heard, but it goes beyond that. These are guys I genuinely enjoy hanging out with outside of gigs, practices, etc. I'm only sorry I was so late to the party. A handful of songs, a handful of gigs.

I can only speak definitively for myself, obviously, but don't be surprised if you see me and/or Alan around town involved in other projects in the future. DRS is coming to an end, but music is not.

Devil Riding Shotgun has been the highlight for me as it has introduced me to a wealth of musical talent and friendship that is worth more than words can express. I've played in many bands along my travels but, will miss this one the most.

As a band we were only really getting started. The guys, Alan and Jon, are true masters of their craft. I count myself blessed to have found great bandmates and true friends. I am truly saddened to have to leave. The honor has truly been mine.

I am looking forward to hearing what comes from the guys as I know they will continue to amaze my senses with their talent. Keep an eye and ear out as I know they'll bring hell and deliver.

As for the the bands I have had the pleasure of playing with and seeing I count myself lucky to have been able to share such wonderful musical experiences. There is great great talent here.

Special note:
Gordy, Brian, and the rest of Black Maria I am honored to have been able to play the same stage with you. The raw energy which you bring always boils the blood and over works the senses. To you I bow in honor. (I'm still trying to get a CD out of you!!!) haha

John, first drummer, thank you for your help with the beginnings of DRS. Your talent on the skins have been amazing and much appreciation to you as I have had the honor of playing along side of another master of his craft.

To those who have shared there ears with us I thank you! Especially "PaulE". Thank you very much for everything.

Sight 16 Sid...true talent comes from you. Thank you for all.

I'll see you guys down the line. Mvto.

Good luck guys! I didn't get to see you jam yet, but I always heard good things from others...sounds like you are a great band--a close group of friends always make the best music.

Glad to have had a part in the band.

Great memories, great music.

Here's to good fortune in your future endeavors Neb and Alan.

I'd also like to acknowledge Gordy & Brian of Black Maria for their support and encouragement and Sid of sight16studios.com for going above and beyond in helping us create our album.

Hopefully when Neb gets around to it, he'll put a few of the new tunes up on the MySpace. We also have video of the final show, but it is unfortunately inaccessible, imprisoned in a memory card because of a software problem. With any luck, that will get sorted out soon, as well, and I'll link some clips in here.
