The plan last night was to finish recording all the drum tracks, but we fell a tad shy of the mark - scratch guitar/bass for the rest of the tunes are done, but John still needs to lay down the drums for "Why?". Still, we're only 9 hours in, so it's not a big deal.
Tonight Neb will be laying down as many of his bass tracks as time permits, and John will be finishing "Why?". John also wants to do an overdubbed cymbal build in one tune using mallets. Cheeky bastid - what does he think he is? A guitarist? It's actually a sound idea, so he'll be recording that, as well.
I'll probably be doing most of my guitar work on Saturday, but if Neb nails all the basslines into place tonight, I should be able to record some tracks on Friday night.
Finally finished the drums last night. They sound sick. Sid's the man. Oh, also finished the bass tracks last night as well. Used 3 signals. Direct line, 2 mics on Neb's cabinet (one high, one for the lows) The bass is going to sound ridiculously monstrous.

Oh, also finished the bass tracks last night as well.
Neb must've really nailed that shiot. Good job, boys - you deserve a drink!
I'll be heading in tonight right after work. I'll probably do all the main tracks first since I'm switching guitars/cabinets for the 2nd guitar tracks.
I have a concept in place but, your concept will be appreciated. As no one knows of the art work I think it will be conceptual to the project at hand. Talk to me more and e-mail me direct.

Okay, between Friday night and Saturday's sessions, I have now recorded both rhythm guitar tracks and the solos for all the songs but three. I've already done primary rhythm tracks on those 3, so Monday night I'll cut the remainder of my parts. Then Neb can do his vocals. He already did a vocal track for "Just Thinking" the other night, so Sid was able to provide us with a rough mix of that.
Sounding really good so far.
And yeah, John - get in touch with Neb re: the art, and thanks for the offer!
Please note that Sid himself does not appear in the above photos.
That's because he was on the other side of the booth with a gun trained on me, a la Phil Spector. Gotta give him credit, though - we got some good takes!!
