For those who might be interested in such details, we usually play in D Standard (dropped one full step on each string). We are currently writing new material in dropped C (same tuning, except for 2 full steps down on the low E string), and the first tune outta the box is "Why?"
"Why" is probably our most "modern" sounding song, IMO, and it got a really good response when we broke it out last Saturday. We'll probably end up with at least 3 songs in this tuning to make it worthwhile to retune during the set.
