Our next show will be at Burt's on Monday night, July 16. Line-up will be as follows:

Shoulder Voices
Oh My God
Lousy Robot

Because of our love of thematic shows, when we heard we were playing with a band called 'oh my god' we decided to do a set with all of our songs with religious references/overtones. We've got a few new songs, new arrangements and we promise we will play well this time. Also, if you've never heard lousy robot, do yourself a favor and see them this night. Singer/songwriter Jim is one of the best songwriters in town. Any questions, concerns, or requests can be addressed here if needed.

Thanks to everyone that came out for this show. Oh My God kicked ass; they've got great post-modern sounds and lyrics. Lousy Robot was tight and played an excellent set of songs, even if Maury (sp?) was just filling in for the show. The Shoulder Voices displayed a grand sort of slow destruction. Equipment kept going out on us, power supplies were forgotten, and we even changed arrangements on stage for a few tunes. I've been finding myself wondering at the nature of the Shoulder Voices recently. It has, and will always be, a home for the various songs of the three main songwriters. The live show, however, is usually abrasive, unhinged in some way. Where most bands work on improving or disguising their weak spots or the places that don't connect, we have a tendency to push those places... oh, do we ever push those places to edge of reason. I wonder if it is that we don't really care, because we do have a heavy 'fuck-it' sort of attitude, or that we are aiming for something beyond the standard psychological response most bands provide to crowds and album listeners. Regardless, our sets and recordings continue on towards some psychedelic vision where sadness and happiness are the same thing, where you never know if a song ended or should end, where little is certain or understood. Lastly, thanks to Burt's for having us play again; perhaps forward thinking, perhaps foolish, Burt's seems to like us for some reason, or in-spite of various reasons, and they will, if there is any justice in the universe, be rewarded by, I assume, other-worldly riches and virgins (if you're into that sort of thing) upon entering the next life.
